ACTS Guideline: Do’s And Don’t’s In Witnessing

1. Don’t touch people without their permission, then just hold a hand to pray with them.
2. Don’t engage in religious arguments. There are too many hungry people out there to reach, rather than get tied up in a pointless religious argument. Keep your focus on sharing Jesus to get people born again, filled with the Spirit, healed, delivered, or encouraged in some way.
3. Don’t give place to anger to the point of sin.
4. Don’t distract people from their work.
5. Realize your position in Christ, relax, be real, respect people’s rights, and respond to people’s needs and desires with grace and wisdom.
6. Be very kind, considerate, and very courteous at all times.
7. Be constantly asking and listening to the Holy Spirit for guidance.
8. Be trusting in the Holy Spirit to use the Word and your testimony to convince the hearer.
9. Know that God is always with you and with His Word working in the heart and life of the hearer. Your job is to be sensitive to follow along with what God is doing in the person’s life. Locate them and minister to them at their present level with all love and patience.
10.Know that God confirms His Word with signs following, and that His Word never returns void. It’s power is always at work to bless and deliver the hearer.
