image003.jpg    Abscess Tooth Surgery Pain Free

I had a tooth extracted. The dentist had quite  a struggle getting it out. It had to be cut out and there was much hard pulling. It took a long time. I didn't know if this was normal for teeth being extracted or not, and I was told that this was about as bad as it gets when it comes to pulling teeth out these days. Of course, it was really bad when they used no pain-killers.

So, being told that I could expect some heavy-duty pain when the feeling returns, I was given an extra strong prescription of pain-killer, and was told that I should start taking it right away before the pain starts to try to head it off, because once it starts, there is no curbing it for a while.

When I was told to expect the pain, something rose up within me and said silently, within myself, "I will not expect pain--He bore my pains (Isa.53)". I decided to not fill the prescription.

I went home and related it all to Becky, and we prayed about it, with me committing myself into the hands of the Lord.

One hour passed, two, three, and at one point I was concerned that there was no pain, so I called the dentist. I told the whole story, and it was related to me that pain is normally there, the only cases being those in which the people prayed. I said, "Well, I am one of those cases, because we prayed, and I have had no pain.” The dentist said she had prayed, too.

That evening I ate some eggs for supper and I slept like a baby that night and never suffered pain from the feeling returning to my mouth from the surgery.

We praise God for His deliverance.
