ACTION!

When we take action on God's Word, we get God's results.
We're on a movie set. The actors are all in place. The lines are learned. The moves have all been rehearsed. The cameras are rolling. Everybody knows what to do.  If it stops here, the movie is never made. But no, the director shouts "Action!" Everybody goes into action and plays their part. The movie is made.
We, as believers in Jesus Christ, need to understand that we have been given the right and responsibility to take action on what God has put into place, in order to accomplish the work of God on earth today. We all have a part to play for our own personal good and strength, and we all have a part to play for the good and strength of the corporate body of Christ, and, for the good of the world.
There is a concept that many believers have that works to paralyze God's work in our lives personally and in the body as a whole. Many people are "waiting for God to move" before they take action, when all the time, God is waiting for them to move. Granted, we do need to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, but you can only guide a moving ship. There is no guiding of a ship just sitting in the harbor, tied to the shore with big ropes!
So, let's see how this applies to some daily attitudes and activities.

BEING A WITNESS
Many people are waiting for a special "leading" or "open door" in order to be a witness to others of Jesus and the things of God. Those same people can eat out at a good restaurant and really enjoy their meal, and they will witness of that restaurant to everybody they see--without any special leading! People will hear something terrible on the news, and they will witness of that terrible report to everybody they see--without any special leading!
No, the truth is, people are just not filled enough with the Holy Spirit to be truly excited about Jesus and the things of God to be overflowing with the witness of Jesus. We are not witnesses of Jesus because we are so tied up seeing everything else except Jesus, that we are filled with stuff instead of Him. So, fear of what others think dominates us, instead of faith and the fire of God.
What God is leading us to do is to take action on the Word of God and repent of sin, fear, unbelief, and disobedience, get filled with the Holy Spirit and be excited about what we have in Christ, and go and preach the gospel to every creature! He didn't say go and be obnoxious. He said go in wisdom and serve others in truth and love, speaking the truth in love.

BEING FILLED WITH THE SPIRIT
Many people are looking for a special experience of feeling God's presence before they consider themselves filled with the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit is something you choose to accept by faith in Jesus Christ, then you take action by yielding your life, your tongue, your will, and everything you have and are to Him. It's a choice to act on the Word of God.
If you've never been filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, it's either because you've chosen not to, or, you didn't know it was available to you. It's just like forgiveness. It is there in place for you. All you have to do to receive forgiveness is to hear the message of Jesus Christ and accept it by faith, repenting, or turning from your life of sin, turning to Him for your deliverance.
The Holy Spirit and all His abilities are there in place for you. All you have to do is hear the message that Jesus will baptize (immerse) you with the Holy Spirit, accept it by faith, and choose to take action with your life, your tongue, your will, and with everything you have and are. When you take action, God is there to give utterance, power, purpose, and provision. But nothing happens if you don't choose to take action.
We are filled with the Spirit of God by our choice and our action. Yes, there can be special experiences as the Spirit of God fills our lives. But we can still be filled with the Spirit on a daily basis without special experiencs or feelings. The result is this: The Spirit fills us with the realization of Jesus, His person, His finished work, His purposes, and His passion, so much, that we just have to share it with somebody. Total yieldedness of all our life and being brings this realization. That's being filled with the Spirit. It is not necessarily a feeling, at all.

TONGUES
Many people think they must have a special moving of God in their life to speak in tongues. Tongues is given as a tool by which you can "edify" or "build up" and "strengthen" your inner spirit man. This tool is already in place for you in Jesus Christ. It is available to every believer (different from the office of tongues
and interpretation--1Cor.12.30;  14.28). When you ask Him to fill you with the Spirit, then you need to take action by giving breath to your tongue, so He can give utterance to your prayer and praise life.
God gets things done by speaking. He spoke and the worlds were created. Jesus spoke and people were set free. He told us to speak to the mountains and they would be removed. As we speak in prayer, God moves and things get done on the earth. This is why it is important that we be speaking the utterance of the Holy Spirit. He knows what needs to be prayed and spoken through us. As we choose to take action on our faith, God speaks through us to get the job done that needs to get done.
Paul prayed in tongues, virtually "without ceasing" (1Cor.14.18; 1Thes.5.17). He did this at will, by his choice (1Cor.14.15). When you understand the unlimited power and revelation of Jesus that is unleashed through praying in tongues, you will be inspired to choose to do it as much as you can each day. You can be speaking out the prayers and utterance of the Holy Spirit as you drive down the road, as you go about your work, and all through the day. You can even be doing it under your breath as you are carrying on a conversation with a person, and they never know it.
You don't need to make a big issue of tongues--just do it. The fruit of it will be the magnification of Jesus Christ in your life and ministry. People will be drawn to Jesus and changed by His grace and power.
You can choose to stay filled and strengthened by the Holy Spirit each day by taking action on what is there in place for you. When you have food in the house, you can choose to eat anytime you want to in order to strengthen your physical body. It's the same with praying in tongues. For your spiritual strength, you can choose to speak the utterance of the Spirit anytime you want to. You don't have to wait for a feeling or special move of God.

HEALING
Many people think they are waiting on God to heal them. No, God has secured healing for us through the work of Jesus Christ, and it is there in place for us. We hear what is ours from the Word, and we take action on what is ours by praising God and giving Him thanks by faith for our healing (Isa.53.4,5). We might have to use means (1Tim.5.23):  Medical, nutritional, lifestyle changes, attitude changes, and we might need to immerse ourself in the scriptural promises of healing night and day. But we need to understand that healing is there in place for us; we just need to take action on what is ours.
Many people receive prayer for healing and anointing with oil. That's good to receive that, but that's only half of it. The other half is that when you receive that, from that point on, you take action with your faith. Start confessing your healing from that point on--no matter what it looks like. You make any necessary changes of attitude or actions that you might have or are doing (get rid of bitterness, unforgiveness, sin, habits, etc.). Do something you couldn't do before, acting on your faith. If you want what is in place for you, then take action to remove all obstacles to your receiving that, and take action to obtain what is yours, and you will have it.

MISSIONS
Many people say they are not called to missions and outreach, and that it takes a special call to go out in those capacities. Granted, there are different offices of ministry set in the body of Christ (1Cor.12.28; Eph.4.11). But these same people who say this, don't have to have a special call to take a vacation for a week in Europe, Spain, Mexico, etc. People will save up their money to go to Vail and Aspen, and other "special" places, and you never hear about a special call for that.
No. It's all by choice. People don't go on mission and outreach ministries because they have fleshly and religious concepts that lead them to choose not to. The believers of the early church were all scattered abroad and "went everywhere preaching the word" (Acts 8.1-4). The Bible says it was everybody except the apostles who did this. In other words, it was all lay people, the common, everyday believers who went out everywhere preaching the Word throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria.
They were scattered because of persecution. They could have chosen to go up into caves or into other cities and hidden out. No. They chose to go all over the place and preach the Word. They chose to do missions and outreach work.

CONCLUSION
Everything is in place. The script is written (it's right there in the Bible). The lights are on. The cameras are rolling (a great cloud of witnesses in the heavenly grandstands is looking on--Heb.12.1,2). The Director has ascended up into heaven to oversee the set, and on the day of Pentecost He sent a flaming signal for "Action!"
No, we are not waiting on God to move. That's a cop-out born of fear, unbelief, and dead religious traditions. God has moved. Now, He is waiting on us to move. He is waiting on us to move to receive His power--tongues of fire. He is waiting on us to move our hearts and our lives and our tongues in such a way, so the message of full deliverance, now available for every person through the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, is taken to the ends of the earth.
The world is dying to see the smash hit movie, "JESUS--LORD OF ALL". Jesus smashed the devil, now, it's up to you and me to take action in each of our parts, and speak the gospel script written on our hearts by the Holy Spirit.
Action! Will you respond to the Director, and live the abundant life, or will you cooperate with the devil, and miss God's fullest for you and for others?
Choose this day whom you will serve.
Choose this day to respond to the Director by faith in His Word, not looking to the left nor to the right, and He will meet you with His reward, for He is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Heb.11.6).
Choose this day to respond to the Director by faith in His Word, not looking to the left nor to the right, and you will be empowered to carry out His full plan for your life, reaping abundant fruit unto His eternal glory.
Action! Now is the acceptable time, today is the day of salvation.
Action! Commit yourself to Him and "Just Do It!"
    Action! It's your move.
