We understand that to receive forgiveness,
we simply hear the Word, accept it, and act upon it. We confess Jesus as
our Lord and are baptized in water. The Word gives us definite direction,
and we follow.
We understand that to receive the
baptism of the Holy Spirit, we simply hear the Word, accept it, and act
upon it. We speak in tongues and give God praise and glory. The Word gives
us definite direction, and we follow.
We understand that to receive healing,
we simply hear the Word, accept it, and act upon it. We walk by faith,
not by sight. We declare our healing regardless of the outward evidences
and we give God the praise for what He has done, not waiting for a manifestation.
We walk by faith in what the Word says.
In the same basic way, we receive
family salvation, financial blessing, favor with God and man, and a future
in glory with Jesus forever—we hear what the Word says, we accept it, we
do it, and we give God praise.
We are taught, “Just believe the Word
and take action upon it. Do what the Word says to do.” Yes. We all agree
on that. So, let us consider this:
Why do people say that we have to
have a special call to go out to minister or to go to the mission field?
Does not the Word say to "Go...preach the gospel to every creature"? Then
why don’t we apply the same principle of faith of going into all the world
to preach the gospel? It is a clearly stated command of the Word to go
into all the world and preach the gospel.
This is as clear as forgiveness, the
fullness of the Spirit, healing, and all the others areas that we take
the Word in faith and obedience to act on it. So why don’t we take this
command in sheer faith and obedience rather than sit around and wait for
some special “call”.
God has already issued His call by
giving His only Son so that those who live, should not live unto themselves
but unto Him who died and rose again, to give every living person eternal
life. If we are alive, we bear the responsibility to carry out the commission
that has already been issued, in simple child-like faith and obedience,
simply because the Word says it.
His Word is His call to the mission
field.
Obedience to His Word is His plan
to evangelize the whole world.
Step out on the waters of His general
call, and you will receive a specific direction and call. He can't guide
an anchored boat.
Is there anyone in the audience who
believes God’s Word enough to obey it? Yes? Then get your passport in order
and your bags packed. You’re in for the ride of your life. You are in God's
plan to evangelize the whole world.
