WORLD MISSION VISION
(Jn.4.1-42)
Jesus had a purpose in Samaria greater
than just reaching the woman. He was interested in reaching a city. I want
us to see how He did it .
Our job, as a church, is to network
together, within the congregation, and with other churches and ministries,
to win every person in the world to Jesus.
My purpose in this message is to make
sure you have this clear purpose in your life.
JESUS HAD "NOW" WORLD MISSION VISION
He started by winning one. You start
by reaching out to and winning one, NOW. How did He do it?
He realized the constant presence
of Father God. NOW is the time to be worshipping the Father in Spirit and
in truth (Jn.4.23,24).
He realized the accomplished
defeat of Satan. NOW is the judgement of this world, NOW satan is cast
out (Jn.12.31,32).
He realized the harvest was ready
to be reaped NOW. He said to not say that harvest time is coming, but lift
your eyes and look around you and see that the fields are white already
to harvest.
He realized that NOW there was already
a network in place of those who had gone before and laid the ground work,
so that NOW, "You step in to reap the results of their work." (Amp. Bible
Jn.4.38.)
A survey shows that it takes 7.6 contacts
to get a convert. As we all go about doing the sowing/reaping labor, we
all have opportunities to step into the .6 to see people turn to Jesus.
Jesus' message to His disciples was
this: The whole world is the mission field. You are NOW ON THE MISSION
FIELD. God is looking for the faithful, who will worship Him NOW, who will
sow seeds NOW, and who will reap the harvest NOW.
ENEMIES OF THE WILL AND WORK OF GOD
1. Passivity instead of being purpose driven--1Ths.5.6
2. Distraction instead of having divine direction--Lk.21.34;
3. Trials and persecutions drowning triumphs and praises--Mt.13.19-23
4. Thinking as the world thinks instead of thinking as
God thinks--Rom.12.1,2
5. Not keeping our body under control--1Co.9.24-27; Php.3.17-19
When the enemies are winning, we have
lost our passion and our mission vision.
When we are in the victory, our food is to do the will
and work of the Father NOW, everywhere we go, in everything we do.
Our goal is souls! Hell is hot with
fire and it's forever, and we have the power to do something about it.
We have the keys. Eternal souls depend on what we do with the keys.
God's goal is souls! Reaching souls
is the heart of God. We have the key to God's heart, and, this is when
we are the happiest--when we are reaching souls.
FROM ONE PERSON, TO THE CITY, TO THE REGION, TO THE
WORLD
Jesus taught that we enter into others'
labors. In Samaria, He demonstrated this teaching. See how the network
continued to expand in Samaria. In John 4, a woman was converted and a
city began to be touched. In Acts 8.8 there was great joy in a city of
Samaria. In Acts 8.25, many villages of the Samaritans were affected. See
how it spreads!
In Jn.4.42 the people of Samaria received
a revelation of Jesus as the "Savior of the WORLD." Our job is to network
together to save every person in the WORLD. We are to have a world
mission vision, and we are to preach and teach a world mission vision,
and we are to practice carrying out a world mission vision.
Matt.28.18-20. Mk16.15 tells us to
"Go ye into ALL THE WORLD, and preach the gospel to EVERY CREATURE." We
are to enter into the network of others' labors and sow seed and reap harvest
every where we go, all the time. That is the will and work of the Father.
That is the meat, the food that really feeds us. That is what it takes
to set the captives free.
CONCLUSION:
Jesus had a world mission vision,
and the way He carried it out was to win one. Your purpose is to
worship NOW, sow NOW, and reap everywhere you go, NOW. Don't say, "My purpose
is out there someday, somewhere." You are on the mission field today!
Be faithful in the purpose today,
and you will fulfill the purpose of tomorrow.
sWork with the network that God has
in place today, and the fruit will increase tomorrow.
Let our purpose expand to a vision
of the world--World Mission Vision--and see unlimited fruit born to the
praise and glory of God.
