THE MOVE OF GOD IN THE EARTH TODAY
The title of my message today is, The Move of God in
the Earth Today.
(Call for a volunteer from the audience, and introduce
that person.
Just have him or her to stand with you as you introduce
the subject. )
(To the audience say:)
I am going to show you a move of God today.
There is one point I want you to catch.
You carry within you, the move of God, in the earth
today.
Everybody say after me:
I carry within me, the move of God, in the earth
today. Again.
The Bible tells us, in the book of Acts, about a man named Paul.
Paul was born-again, Spirit-filled, and communing with
God daily.
He had the presence of God in and upon
him, because he had God living in him.
He had the power of God with him,
because he had the message of the gospel, which is the power of God unto
salvation to everyone who believes.
He had the purpose of God guiding him,
because it is God's purpose to seek and save the lost.
So, everywhere he went, he carried the presence, power,
and purpose of God, and by his life and his words, he released God into
people's lives.
In Acts 14, 15, and 16, we read how that:
--Paul and Barnabas preached and a great multitude
believed.
--They were persecuted, so they fled to other cities
and preached the gospel.
--An impotent man at Lystra, who had never walked, heard
them speak so that he received faith and was instantly healed.
--More persecution got Paul stoned, and they him drug
out of the city as dead. He got up and walked out of that situation, and
they moved on to other cities and preached the gospel and strengthened
the disciples and ordained elders in every newly established church.
-- Paul continued releasing the move of God by teaching
and preaching the Word in Antioch, and then going back to all the churches
to strengthen them.
--Paul released the move of God to a business woman
at a prayer meeting and she and her household got saved.
--Paul released the move of God to a demon-possessed
woman and she was delivered.
--Paul (and Barnabas) were thrown into prison for setting
the demon-possessed woman free, and through their prayers and praises to
God, the move of God was released in such a way that an earthquake shook
things up so much that the jailer and his household got saved.
Where Paul (and Barnabas) went, with the presence, power, and purpose of God, the move of God went, and they released that move of God by the life they lived and the words they spoke.
To the volunteer:
Are you born again, filled with the Spirit, and communing
with God daily?
So, you have the same presence of God with you
as did Paul, don't you.
And, you have the same the power of God through
the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, don't you.
And, you have the same purpose of God to seek
and save the lost, just like Paul, don't you.
So, you carry the same move of God in the earth
today, as Paul carried in his day, don't you.
To the audience: Now, I'm going to show you a genuine move of God today?
(Instruct your volunteer to go over to some people and just be friendly with them for a few moments and tell them about Jesus Christ.)
To the audience: Do you want to see a move of God? (Pointing to the volunteer) You are now seeing a move of God being released in the earth today!
Here's the point. Say after me:
I carry within me, the move of God, in the earth
today.
(Thanks and applause for volunteer).
Point number 1...
1. IF YOU ARE BORN AGAIN, THE LIFE YOU HAVE WITHIN YOU IS THE PRESENCE OF GOD
Gal. 2.20 I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me...
1Cor.3.16 ...you are the temple
of God...the Spirit of God dwells in you.
Just like the people in the Bible, when you are born-again,
Spirit-filled, and faith-filled, communing
with God daily, you have that presence of God in a measure
that can greatly affect those around you. You can
release that presence by the life you live and the words you speak. The
Word of the Gospel
is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.
That's the Word we need to speak.
Point number 2...
2. IF YOU HAVE THE MESSAGE OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST, YOU CARRY THE POWER OF GOD WITH YOU.
Rom. 1.16 For I am not ashamed of
the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to every one that believes...
Ac.26.16 ...a minister and a witness...to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of satan unto God that they may receive forgiveness of sins and inheritance by faith in me (Jesus)
2Cor.5.18,19 hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation...the word of reconciliation
Inherent in the Word of God is the power of God. If you carry the Word in you, you carry the powerof God within you. If you speak the Word in faith, you are releasing the power of God. We see thisdemonstrated over and over in the book of Acts. There are a couple of instances of silent witnessesin the New Testament--Jesus when He was being tried, and women dealing with husbands who are not right with God--but the overwhelming majority of activity in the New Testament is releasing the move of God by the words that we speak--to the lost to get them saved, and to the saints to get them sanctified, encouraged, and to build them up.
Point number 3...
3. THE PEOPLE YOU ENCOUNTER IS THE PURPOSE AND PROGRAM OF GOD. GOD'S PURPOSE IS TO SEEK AND SAVE EVERY LOST PERSON, AND TO STRENGTHEN AND ESTABLISH EVERY SAINT.
Ps. 37.23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way.
1Tim. 2.4 God...will have all men
to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the
truth.
Every person you meet is a ministry
opportunity in some degree, at some level. By you carrying the presence
and power of God within you, then every place you go is a place that God
can move through you to minister to people's needs.
The way has been made. The doors have been opened. God is transmitting.
We
need to just tune our spiritual radios in and pick up His signals as we
go, and obey the promptings of the Spirit,
and see God manifest Himself in the lives of those people we
encounter every day, every place we go.
Conclusion:
--Paul carried the presence, power, and purpose of God
with him, and released that move through the preaching of the gospel, and
through prayer and praise, worship.
--Every person who is born-again, Spirit-filled, and
faith-filled, communing with God each day, carries that same presence,
power, and purpose of God, and you can release the move of God by the life
you live and by the words you speak, just like Paul and Barnabas.
Say this: I carry the presence, the power,
and the purpose of God, with me, everywhere I go.
Isn't that awesome! Think about it. Man, you are loaded!
Every Christian man, woman, boy and girl is loaded
with blessings to pour out for the whole world!
Now, I want to give you a quick demonstration of how you can carry the move of God into people's lives on a daily basis.
A Track To Run On / Witnessing For Dummies
I want to give you a simple track to run on to accomplish
the task of reaching the world one-by-one. The basis of the following “track
to run on”is (1)trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit that works with
the Word of God and (2) working with the fact that faith comes by hearing
the Word, especially when it comes out of one’s own mouth.
Here is a FORM for casual conversation to warm
up to the person:
Family. Occupation. Recreation.
Mission
(their goals). Use any part or all of this.
In casual conversation, as you are finding out about
this person by showing interest in them, by listening and responding to
them, and getting to know them, you can easily get to know them in another
area. Since you are already asking questions about them…
--What are your spiritual beliefs? (Just
listen with “Humm.” Offer no confrontation, no correction, no beliefs of
your own.) (You are locating them.)
--What’s your understanding of who Jesus Christ
is? (“Humm”…)
--What are your beliefs about heaven and
hell? (“Humm”…)
--If you died right now, where would you go?(
If heaven,) Why? (“Humm”…)
--(Ask) If what you are believing is not true,
would you want to know?
--(Or ask) Could I share some scriptures that have
been meaningful to me?
If yes, take your Bible out and turn to Romans 3.23.
You have already highlighted it. Turn the Bible around, hold it for them
to read, and ask,
“Could you please read this out loud?”
(Point to the verse. They read it.)
“What does that say to you?” (Lk. 10.26—the
basis of this question)
If they give an accurate answer, showing they understand
it, go to next scripture.
If they don’t give a good answer, ask them to read it
again, and again, and again if necessary, asking the Holy Spirit to give
them a good understanding.
(You have already written in the next reference on the
top of your page upside down.)
Rom. 6.23. Ask to read aloud. Then, what does that
say to you. “Humm.”
Jn. 3.3. Ask to read aloud. Q. Why did Jesus die?
(This will let you know if they have put it all together yet. If a good
answer, go to next. If not repeat.)
Jn. 14.6. Ask to read aloud. What does that say
to you? “Humm.”
Rom. 10. 9-11. Same.
2Cor. 5.15. Same
(Short version of these seven
Rev. 3. 20. Same.
scriptures is just using Rom. 3:23;
Rom. 6: 23 and Jn 3: 16)
Commitment Questions (to close the deal if the person
has been open)
--Are you a sinner? (If not convinced,
have them read Rom. 3.23 again)
--Do you want forgiveness of sins and the gift
of eternal life? (…Rom. 6.23)
--Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for you
and rose again? (…Jn.3.3; 14.6; Rom.10.9-11)
--Are you willing to surrender you life to Jesus
Christ? (…2 Cor.5.15)
--Are you ready to invite Jesus into your life
and into your heart right now? (…Rev.3.20)
At any point, if there is opposition, just have them go
back and read the scriptures.
Learn to run on this track real good, real casual. Become
an expert at being a non-confrontational fisher and trainer of men using
the Word in this manner. Mt.4.19. You can use the same principle to teach
any subject. Love, listen, locate, and lead to the Word. Learn to do this
constantly.
You bring them from casual conversation to conversion by the presence, power, and purpose of God, by releasing the move of God into their lives through the Word and Spirit of God.
Say after me one more time: I carry within me, the move of God, in the earth today.
Now, go out there and release the move of God into people's hearts and lives and see them blessed and changed in a mighty way to the glory of the name of Jesus Christ our Lord forever. Amen.
