As you study the scriptures, you
will see these two things common
to all those in the early church.
Sometimes it was an individual thing, sometimes with families, and sometimes
it happened in a whole group of people at once. Regardless of your personal
situation and the order in which it happens, God's will for you is that
you be baptized in water and baptized in the Holy Spirit, just as the believers
in the Bible.
Your baptism in water is your public identification with Jesus showing that you died with Him, your old life is buried, and you are now risen with Him in new, everlasting life. Your baptism in the Holy Spirit is your receiving the power and supernatural weapons of God to enable you to be a victorious believer. You are to be a bold, effective witness of Jesus so that you preach the gospel, heal the sick, cast out devils, and set others free in every way. The Spirit provides the supernatural power to enable you to carry out the work of God.
As you yield all to God, you will be given a supernatural prayer language for effective prayer. Use your new language constantly in praise, worship, and prayer. (It is called "tongues" in the Bible). This is the Holy Spirit praying through your spirit, speaking out the perfect will of God for your life and your situation.
It is very important that you obey the Lord in confessing Him publicly in water baptism, and it most important that you receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit just like they did in the Bible. Jesus Himself was baptized in water, so should we be, also. He also had the Holy Spirit to come upon Him in power. So should we, also.
