DISCIPLESHIP:
PRAYERS OF THE NEW TESTATMENT

Life comes from God. Faith and prayer is the channel through which God's life is poured, and preaching, teaching, and ministering is the "nozzle" which distributes that life to others.
Many times our channel is clogged with foreign "stuff" that prevents God's life from flowing, and our "nozzles" are out of adjustment so that we do not effectively distribute God's life to others. There are times for the nozzle to be adjusted so that there is a full force stream, and other times a fine mist, and other times just a drop at a time.
In order to get readjusted, it is helpful to review how people prayed in the New Testament, and to pattern our prayer life after those prayers. If we get our faith and praying in right order, the rest should follow in proper order.
One thing is to be noticed. There is a marked absence of reference to the devil, satan, and demons in New Testament prayers. The prayers are more focussed on seeking God's face with thanksgiving, understanding, and worship, so that we are changed and enlightened and empowered according to what we already are and have in Christ.

PAUL'S PRAYING
--Eph.1.3,21;  2.6. This is prayer for enlightenment to a sure, positive position of dominion. The only mention of satanic forces is that we are far above them in Christ.
--Eph.3. This is prayer for strength, that the presence of Christ be in believer’s hearts, that there be spiritual comprehension, and a knowing of the love of God, with results of being filled with all the fullness of God.
--Philp.1. This is prayer of thanksgiving, asking for love, knowledge, judgment (discernment), and purity, and to be filled with the fruits of righteousness.
--Col.1. This prayer is positive with the only mention of the power of darkness being referenced to the fact that we are delivered from satan's power and translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son.
--Col.2.10,15. Statement of faith that declares we are in Christ, the head over all powers of the enemy, Jesus having spoiled (put off, divest wholly, stripped) satan of his powers. Paul goes on to say vs.16-19 "Let not man therefore judge you…not holding the Head”. The emphasis is what we are and now have in Christ, and Him being central and preeminent over all. In chapter 3 he doesn’t talk about dealing with the devil, rather, dealing with our flesh and relationships. In chapter 4 prayer is requested for boldness in order to preach and teach the Word.
--1Tim.2.1,2,8 In this about prayer, the devil is never mentioned. It is positive relationship and conversation with God to distribute good things on earth by simply asking and interceding with thanksgiving and worship to Him.
What I am seeing is this: The main emphasis in the Word is that as we live in fellowship with the Father, trusting Him and conversing with Him, He fights our battles for us and we simply move in His presence and power.
In this realm, the miraculous is without effort on our part.
Deliverance flows in an instantly manifested way.
The name of Jesus is magnified, for all attention is upon Him, and all know that it is Him who is doing the work.
This is the realm God is bringing His Body into.
    Perhaps, more later...
