DISCIPLESHIP:
WHAT DOES THE WORD SAY?

In Genesis 1, we see the Spirit of God moving on the face of the earth, and "God said". When the Word of God came forth in conjunction with the moving of the Spirit of God, good things were created from nothing. This is the power of God's Word.
In Genesis 22.16, God told Abraham, "By myself have I sworn...", and God spoke blessings, good things, into Abraham's life. This is the purpose of God's Word--to bless.
In Joshua 1.13 the Israelites were exhorted, "Remember the Word...saying, the Lord your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land." Remembering God's Word brings rest and it gives the good land as a gift. This is the peace from trusting in God's Word.
In 1Sam.17.47, David affirmed to Goliath that he was going to remove his head that day and feed him to the buzzards, because "the battle is the Lord's, and he will give you into our hands." David knew the heart of God toward His people, to always deliver them. This is the power of the Spirit and Word of God working together, to always bring deliverance.
In Mt.11.28-30, Jesus teaches that those who are truly yoked up with Him enter a lifestyle of ease and rest of soul, living by His power rather than their own strength. This is the teaching of God's Word, concerning those who trust the Word.
In Hebrews 4 we read how hearing the Word of God with faith causes us to enter into rest, ceasing from our own works. We fail to enter into this promised land because of unbelief. But, like a two edged sword, the Word opens our heart to show if we are truly trusting the Savior, or just trying our best to make it, in unbelief. Thank God for His Word that reveals our hearts to bring us into faith. This is the mercy and compassion of the Word.
Jesus said, "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven" Mt.18.3. One outstanding quality of children is that they will believe what you tell them without question. This is the criterion for experiencing the things of the kingdom of God--believing God's Word as a little child. This is the simplicity of the Word.
This is the way we enter the kingdom of all God's promises. This is how we enter into rest. This is how God is able to fight all our battles for us--when we just believe His Word like a little child.
"If Daddy says it, it's so." It's that simple. All things can be accomplished by simply believing Daddy's Word. He never goes back on His Word. I said, All things can be accomplished by simply believing Daddy's Word. Jesus said, "Fear not: believe only...all things are possible to him that believeth...Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom" Lk.8.50; Mk.9.23; Lk.12.32.
Since this is so, we need to just find out what the Word says about things, and whatever it says, we will hear it, believe it, confess it, and act upon it, and the issue will be settled. There is great peace and rest in believing God's Word. "Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them" Ps.119:165.

WHAT THE WORD SAYS ABOUT OUR STANDING WITH GOD
Good news! Jesus has destroyed the power of sin, satan, and death for us. We are now free from the power of sin, satan, and all death. He paid the price for our sin, so the sting of death has been removed. 1Cor.15.54-57.
Because we are free from sin's power, satan can no longer hold us. The door is open for the little bird to fly out. Fly out, little bird, on the wings of faith! Go free by your faith in Jesus. His righteousness and His sacrifice, that paid the penalty of our sin, is now put on our account. God now looks at the books and sees your name, and in your ledger sheets He sees the name of Jesus credited to your account. He sees your account stamped in big red letters, PAID IN FULL BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS. Hallelujah!
Jesus did it for you. He gave His life, He shed His blood. Hear that. Believe that. Confess that. Act on that. Go free. Rejoice in what Jesus has done for you. Jn.3.16,17; Rom.6.22,23; Eph.2.8-10; Gal.1.3,4; Col.1.13;  2.14,15; Heb.10.14
Without this faith in Jesus our sin remains, and that sin causes eternal separation from God, and that's hell.
"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal" Mt.25.46.
"And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments..." Lk.16.23.
"But the fearful, unbelieving...abominable...murderers...whoremongers... sorcerers...idolaters...all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone..." Rev.21.8.
Through faith in Jesus Christ, the Word, we are delivered from sin, death, and hell.

HEALING
Just as Jesus gave Himself to take our sins away, He also gave Himself to take all our sicknesses away. By the same faith that we can have the burden of all our sin and guilt removed, we can also have the burden of all our sicknesses and weaknesses removed. The Word presents it as a package deal.
There are different operations of healing, but always with the same result--healing. Healing is provided for us because God loves us. When we fail to obtain healing, it is not because God has not provided for our healing. The Word says God's people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. The more intimately we know God and His ways, the more we realize how He wants to bless every person in every way. All you have to do is look at the life and ministry of Jesus and see that very clearly. He went about healing all. Ac.10.38.
The Word is very clear that it is God's will to heal us. Don't let some traditional religious interpretation of scriptures that says sickness is a cross to bear, or a thorn in the flesh to teach you a lesson and keep you humble, don't let these concepts rob you of your healing. Get rid of those thoughts. They are like poison, and get away from those who would try to give this to you to drink. Drink the pure water of life of the Word. This brings healing to the nations. Rev.22.1,2.
    Isa.53.4,5; 1Pet.2.24.

HEALTH
The Word tells us how to take care of our body. There is a basic principle in all life that can be called the principle of cleansing and renewal.
It works in the spiritual realm like this: We are in the realm of death because of sin. Because of what Jesus has done, we are forgiven, cleansed of our sin, and delivered from the kingdom of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son (Col.1.13).As we hear the Word and believe upon Him and fellowship with Him (through the Word and the Spirit), we are renewed in our thinking and in our practices. We begin operating in a new way, in the way of spiritual life instead of spiritual death. This spiritual cleansing and renewal brings life into our whole being.
It works in the physical realm like this: Our bodies are set up to keep themselves cleansed inside from wastes and toxins produced from normal living, and also cleansed from outside sources of environmental contamination. If we live in fellowship with the Spirit of life, and if we do those things that promote this cleansing operation, giving our bodies the proper nutrition, especially drinking lots of pure water, and avoiding unwholesome food and drink and environmental conditions, and giving it the proper exercise and rest, and not allowing negative fearful or vindictive attitudes to remain with us, then we are cooperating with the way of life instead of death. The Spirit of life, along with our cooperation with natural laws of health, makes our mortal bodies cleansed, renewed, alive and healthy. We have a strong immune system. This lifestyle of cleansing and renewal promotes health.

FAMILY SALVATION
God is a "family man". His own first family, Adam and Eve, became "dysfunctional", and immediately God went into the business of bringing families back together again, unto Himself. A sacrifice was made to cover His family's shame, fear, and the division that came about because of sin. This was a prophetic picture of the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ that would be given to unite all families as one by taking their sins away. This is for whoever will believe, committing themselves to God's Son, and receiving His everlasting provision of salvation for all people. Some scripture:
"A lamb for an house" Exodus 12.3.
"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24.15.
"He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great. The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children" Psalms 115.13,14.
"And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children" Isaiah 54.13.
"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children..." Acts 2.38,39.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house" Acts 16.31.
God's way is to bless every household with His love and presence, regardless of what has transpired in the past. He washes it all away and heals the hurt with Himself, so that all may live in the joy of His love today, as one household of faith in His Word.
"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings...and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers..." Mal.4.2-6.

FINANCIAL PROVISIONS
Throughout the Word, God's people have been blessed financially. I must say, anyone who cannot see this, is religiously blinded by tradition. Abraham was rich. Isaac, David, Solomon, the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt, Job, Jesus, the early church--wealth flowed in all these lives.  Let's look at Jesus.
Tradition portrays Him as a poor man, "with nowhere to lay his head", quoting Lk.9.58. His ministry took Him out of His house, but He lived in a house growing up (Mt.2.11), and the scriptures prophesy Him, together with His people, to be wealthy (Isa.60.5,6,9-11;  61.6,7). These are just two passages of many, many passages.
When Jesus was a young child, "wise men" (kings, Isa.60.9.10) came to His house and "opened their treasures" and "presented unto him gifts; gold, frankincense, and myrrh" (Mt.2.11). Please consider how men of wealth travelled in those days in caravans for protection. They didn't bring a few gold trinkets. They, as prophesied, must have had camels loaded with supplies and treasures. (See also Gen.24.10,53.)
Based on prophetic scriptures, I see that Jesus had "treasures" brought to Him, enough no doubt, to finance His whole ministry, when He was yet a child! After all, His Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. God provided abundantly for Solomon, and a greater than Solomon was here. (And remember, that greater One lives in you by faith.)
When He called the disciples, they were fishing, fulfilling their occupations. When He told them where to put the nets, they filled two boats so full of fish, they began to sink. When Jesus is present, finances increase! Lk.5.7.
When they needed tax money, Peter found gold in a fishes' mouth. Mt.17.27
Mary poured very costly spiknard on Jesus' feet--and He received it! Had He been of such mentality, He could have refused it or caught it to sell and give to the poor. Jn.12.3-5.
Right before Jesus left and went back to heaven, He again blessed the disciples financially, loading the boat with fish. Jn.21.11.
God doesn't operate as a cheapskate. If you sow bountifully, you will reap bountifully. He multiplies the seed that the sower sows. 2Cor.9.6-11.
In the early church, those people sold lands and houses to give to the ministry. Money flowed in the early church. We had the Administrator of Judah, Felix, holding Paul for two years, hoping money would be given to him for Paul's release. Paul had stated that he came to bring alms and offerings. This was probably no small amount. Felix wanted in on the spoil. Ac. 24.17,26.
    Just a few scriptures:
"The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." Pr.10.22.
"...the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just." Pr.13.22.
"In the house of the righteous is much treasure..." Pr.15.6.
"By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life." Pr.22.4.
"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" 3Jn.2.
Believe the Word. God wants to prosper you and make you healthy to enable you to bring many others into the fulness of the kingdom of God.

SUMMARY
I have covered five areas: 1.Our standing with God  2.Healing  3.Health
4.Household salvation  5.Finances.
Now, let us just take the Word at face value, like a child, and choose to hear, believe, speak, and act on what the Word of God says in each of these areas. As we do this, God will fight our battles for us and manifest the glory of His deliverance in each of our lives. This is the good fight of faith, laying hold of eternal life. 1Tim.6.12. This is the purpose of God sending His Word to the earth. "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions" Ps.107.20.
Let us be filled with praise and thanksgiving as we hear, believe, speak, and act on the Word. Abraham did this with no evidence of blessing before him--but he had God's Word. As a result of his faith in God's Word, Isaac was born to him and Sarah, two old, impotent people, and it began to be manifested that Abraham was the "father of many nations" Rom.4.16-25. Every believer today is a product of Abraham's faith. This is the same operation of faith in our lives today.
What the Word says, is what you now have by faith. Hallelujah!

"Every place...have I given unto you...be thou strong...be not afraid...remember the word...the Lord hath given you rest and this land...sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you...loose thy shoe from off thy foot [worship]...shout; for the Lord hath given you the city [act boldly]." Josh.1.3,7,9,13;  3.5;  5.15;  6.16.

What the Word says will surely come to pass, through your faith, just as it did with Abraham and Sarah. Hallelujah!
Believe and speak what the Word says!
