Awesome! What is about to be
revealed to you is one of the most startling truths in God's Word, and
somehow we have just read over it. It is for every person, and if every
person was taught this right up front as basic truth, it would give expectation,
direction, and motivation and peace for the rest of their life.
The belief of this truth will change
us from being struggling beggars, to being blessed believers resting in
the love, joy, and peace of God.
Every Jewish person is grounded in
this truth. Jesus was grounded in it. The Apostle Paul was grounded in
it. It was taught to the Gentile believers, as reflected in the letter
to the Romans and Galations. This is a truth that needs to be restored
to the Church today in clarity and simplicity.
It was first revealed in Genesis 1.26-28:
"And God said, Let us make man
in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion...God created
man in his own image...male and female...and God blessed them, and
said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish
the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish
of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that
moveth upon the face of the earth."
God spoke. The power in God's Word
created man. God's spoken Word blessed (gave benefits to) man, and gave
unlimited dominion and fruitfulness to man in the earth.
Here's the truth:
When we line our lives up to God's
Word by faith, we are at that time in the position of receiving the total
blessing (benefits) of God and the total power of God, to empower us to
be fruitful in an unlimited way. Think about this. Unlimited. That
is without bounds in any form, fashion, or direction. Jesus, in the flesh,
is our example of this.
In Christ, we are blessed.
This is not something we must attain unto or beg God to have. It is given
to us when we commit our lives to Jesus Christ. We are empowered to walk
in it when we are filled with and walk in the Holy Spirit, the spirit of
faith.
We see this same truth again being
revealed in Genesis 22.16-18:
"...By myself have I sworn, saith
the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld
thy son, thine only son: that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying
I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which
is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because
thou hast obeyed my voice."
Again God speaks, and Abraham receives
a blessing. What is the blessing? God Himself is going to make him so fruitful
that it cannot be measured (you can't count the stars of the sky nor the
sand on the seashore), and he will have dominion over all the earth. This
word came to Abraham when he was about to offer up his son in sacrifice
to God, something which seemed to be a contradiction to what God's word
of promise was toward him. (Do you have some contradicting circumstances?)
This is a prophetic picture of Jesus
Christ being offered up as the perfect sacrifice in order to provide this
blessing to all mankind in all nations. Through Christ, God has purposed
unlimited blessing to all who are "in Christ", who are believers, whose
lives are committed to Jesus by faith.
Sin and unbelief stops the flow of
the blessing. But Christ never sinned, and He never doubted the word, love,
and goodness of His heavenly Father toward Him. Jesus is the vessel through
which the blessing comes. If we refuse to get hooked up with the vessel,
we are still in our sin. We miss the blessing. If we believe on Him and
His Word, committing our lives to Him, then we are hooked up with the vessel
through which the blessing flows. He Himself is our blessing.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Galations
3.13,14,22,26,29:
"Christ hath redeemed us from the
curse of the law, being made a curse for us...that the blessing of Abraham
might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ...that the promise by faith
of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe...for ye are
all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus...and if ye be Christ's,
then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
Believers in Jesus are Abraham's
seed and heirs of the same promise God made to Abraham. That means that
believers
are to have unlimited fruitfulness in every area of their lives,
and have full dominion over all their enemies.
What does this mean in practical terms?
You can expect, as a
believer in Jesus, on the basis of God's Word, for there to be blessings
(receiving benefits) in your personal life, blessings in your family, blessings
in your health, blessings in your finances, and blessings in your circumstances.
You can expect to be blessed going in and blessed going out, and blessed
in all that you lay your hand to, both now and for eternity.
You can expect, as a believer
in Jesus, on the basis of God's Word, that your family--both physical and
spiritual, that the Word of God that you share with others, the love and
kindness you share, the business and finances you share, (all this
is your seed), will all multiply, duplicate itself, and compound, and touch
all the nations of the world with the blessing (benefits) of God.
You can expect, as a believer
in Jesus, on the basis of God's Word, that any enemy who rises up against
you or your family in any form or fashion, spiritual, physical, financial,
circumstantial, or in any other way, will be subdued by the Lord Himself.
Why?
Because it has already been spoken by God that you are blessed, made fruitful,
and that you have dominion over everything, because you are of the "seed",
Christ. Wow! What a peace and rest!
Anybody or any circumstance that tells
you anything different from this, is going against the sworn covenant of
God, ratified by the shed blood and death of His only Son for you. The
blood stands so that you, your family, your business, your ministry, and
those around you (Gen.30.27), could enjoy these blessings (benefits) for
all this life and for all eternity. The blood of Jesus stands to enforce
this! Believe and confess and rest in the power of the blood of Jesus!
Forgiveness, fulness of the presence
of God in your daily life through the Holy Spirit, household salvation,
health and healing, financial abundance to give to others, dominion over
all your circumstances and enemies, eternal life--"Fear not little flock;
for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom" Lk.12.32.
Wow!
Did you hear that? The Father just gives all this to you
who are in Christ.
This is the "benefits package" that
we have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Unlimited fruitfulness and properity
in every way--this is our inheritance. This is given to us by God
the Father through Jesus Christ. The Father takes pleasure in prospering
His children:
"Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the
prosperity of his servant...Beloved, I wish above all things that thou
mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth" Ps.35.27;
3Jn.2.
Are you beat down and knocked around
by the circumstances of life? Are you looking at the winds and the waves?
Are you carrying an attitude and confessing things in a realm below what
God has spoken concerning you? God doesn't condemn you. He is encouraging
you that your faith will save you and make you whole. Here's how.
Repent. That means to be teachable
and change your direction. Change your attitude. Change your confession.
Stop working against God who is working to bless (give benefits to) you.
Stop living like a pauper when God has declared you a prince. All this
is the trick of the devil to get you turned away from Godl. Turn to the
Lord, committing your life to Him in order to come into agreement with
God's Word and covenant for you through the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ.
Believe God's Word and give
Him praise for what He has provided for you. Make your words line up to
what God's Word says about you. You don't have to be religious to do this.
Just be sensible. It only makes good sense to claim and live in the inheritance
that is available for you. God spoke and things happened, and you are made
in His image. Speak, and make things happen. Confession, praise, and thanksgiving
are first expressions of faith.
Be abundantly fruitful. Realize
that your seed, your life, your family, your business, and your ministry
will grow and multiply and bless the nations. By your faith, live out the
promises of God. Bring honor to God your provider by showing that God does
all things well.
Unlimited fruitfulness is yours
today in every way through the Lord Jesus Christ.
TOTAL DOMINION
Let's go back and pick up one passage
that we quoted in Genesis 22.17:
"...and thy seed shall possess
the gate of his enemies". Let's say it another way. In Christ,
we are presently in possession of the headquarters of all our enemies.Say
this over to yourself three times out loud: In Christ, I am presently
in possession of the headquarters of all my enemies.
Jesus did the struggling and the fighting,
and He won. He took over the devil's headquarters and sat down at his desk,
and we are seated with Him. We don't have to struggle and fight with the
devil--we just take our position and tell him what to do.
Through Christ, we are in the devil's
command post. In Christ we are the devil's boss. No struggling, no fighting,
just call him up on his cell phone and tell him what to do. If you encounter
him face to face causing trouble in someone's life, tell him to leave them
alone. All authority is presently ours in the name of Jesus.
Now with this, we need to be reminded
that our focus is not to be on always going around telling the devil what
to do. Jesus sent us to preach the gospel, the good news, to every creature.
He sent us to go around telling the good news of Jesus. He didn't send
us to just go around telling the devil what to do, with the focus on the
devil. As we lift up the finished work of Jesus, all people are drawn
unto Jesus. We focus on Jesus, and faith in the Word of God. If the devil
gets in the way, we tell him where to go, and get on with what we are called
to do--preach the gospel to every creature.
Our fight is the good fight of faith--believing
what God's Word says is already accomplished. As in the garden, the devil
tries to cast doubt on God's Word, and we wrestle with the bluffs of the
devil working through people and circumstances to try to move us out of
the rest that we have in just believing God's Word. The devil wants
our attention on him. By faith, we deal with his bluffs: "Above all,
taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked" Eph.6.12,16. When he moves us out of the
rest, he's got the best. He's got the advantage. Get back into the rest,
and be manifestly blessed. We win the match.
The trick of the devil is to get
us fighting and struggling for something that we already have in Christ.
We don't have to fight to get dominion over the devil. The Word says we
have been given dominion "in Christ". Believe it and rejoice.
Does a new believer who comes to Jesus
have to struggle and fight in order to get rid of his sin nature? No. He
just believes, and he's changed, a new creation in Christ Jesus. There
is
a process of renewel of his mind that must take place, but even this is
accomplished by faith in the Word of God.
We say, "God gave the promised land
to the children of Israel, and they had to fight to take the land." Yes,
and remember, Old Testament is types and shadows of things to come, all
pointing to Jesus. This is a picture of Jesus, who fought and won, and
now it is His pleasure to give us the kingdom through faith. "Only believe."
We are no match for the devil, but Jesus whipped him. Now, by faith in
the Word of God, we are positioned "in Christ." More than conquerors.
When we face adversity, it is our faith "in Christ" that is the victory
that overcomes agitating circumstances, the world, satan, disease, and
death itself.
You have been given the position of
the devil's headquarters. He had to relinquish it to Jesus. In the joy,
peace, and authority of the name of Jesus Christ, speak the Word to bring
about good things. You are royalty by
inheritance. Command your post with confidence by the
eternal, never-changing Word of God. Set the captives free around you in
Jesus' name.
To my reader: Unlimited fruitfulness
be upon your life in Jesus's name.
