"Surely His salvation is near to to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, and [is ready to be appropriated] that [the manifest presence of God, His] glory may tabernacle and abide in our land...mercy...lovingkindness...truth ...righteousness...peace...yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield it's increase." (Amplfied) "Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps." (KJV) Psalms 85.9-13.
Here is a definition of the fear of God:
The fear of God is constantly giving place to the
Holy Spirit, so that we always live in the love of God, toward God
and toward all people, always believing God's Word of promise, so that
we are always affirming and demonstrating the Word of truth of all the
good things that we presently have in Christ Jesus our Lord. This is truly
giving place to and reverencing the Spirit of God. There is great promise
to those who fear God.
By listening to God teach us, and
by coming to Jesus and trusting what He has done for us, we are giving
place to God, we are reverencing God, we are obtaining and walking in the
fear of God, hence, we are giving place to the Holy Spirit. This is what
we are to show and teach others for them to duplicate in their lives.
GIVE PLACE TO GOD'S ATTITUDE TOWARD HIMSELF
God honors and respects Himself, and
His own word. He honors Jesus and the Holy Spirit and vice versa. We should
honor God for who He is, and we should honor ourselves and our word, as
a creation of God, of His own workmanship. God doesn't have poor workmanship,
so each one of us are His masterpiece. God does not have a poor self-image.
Neither should we. Jesus is our life. Let us live our lives with our eyes
on Him.
GIVE PLACE TO GOD'S ATTITUDE TOWARD OTHERS
You can know God's attitude toward
people. Look at our text above. "Mercy...
lovingkindness...truth...righteousness...peace...."
1. Always compassionate, never condemning. He lifts,
helps, and encourages.
2. Always sees what a person can become--righteousness.
3. Always respects a person's rights. He will set us
in a good way, we can choose.
4. Always leads, never pushes. One drop at a time.
Conclusion:
As we give place to God's attitudes,
we are then in a position to have His works performed through us so that
His glory fills the land. Let this understanding be duplicated through
our teaching and practice, and see His glory spread.
