Introduction:
--You can believe strongly and confidently that God will
perform a miracle for you. We will see in the scriptures today that He
has always worked for all His people with signs and wonders and with miracle
working power, for their full deliverance unto the glory of His name. We
will also see that He still works this way today and always.
GOD SET HIS PEOPLE FREE FROM EGYPT WITH SIGNS AND WONDERS
--Signs and wonders given to Pharoah (Ex. chapters 5-12;
Ps. 78. 43).
--He led them out with a fire by night and a cloud by
day (Ex. 13. 21).
--He healed every one of the people, and they had just
come out of the hard labor of the slime pits (Ps. 105. 37).
IT WAS PROPHESIED THAT JESUS WOULD ARISE WITH HEALING
IN HIS WINGS
--Malachi 4. 2. Like chicks running to a mother hen,
God's people would be able to run to Jesus for refuge.
JESUS CAME HEALING ALL WHO WERE OPPRESSED OF THE DEVIL --Matt. 4. 23, 24; 8. 16, 17; 14. 34-36; Lk. 6. 17-19
JESUS TRAINED HIS DISCIPLES TO GO AND HEAL ALL
--Matt. 10. 1, 7
THE EARLY CHURCH TAUGHT AND PRACTICED FORGIVENESS AND
HEALING FOR ALL
--Acts 10. 34-48
--Acts 5. 12-16
THE MINISTRY OF JESUS IS CLEARLY THE SAME TODAY AS IT
HAS ALWAYS BEEN, AND ALWAYS WILL BE--TO HEAL ALL
--Heb. 13. 8, 9, 20, 21. He's the God of peace and perfection
(wholeness) in every way.
--Rev. 22. 1-3. This healing stream is flowing to all
nations of the earth.
Conclusion:
--Rev. 22. 17. He invites you, if you will, to come to
Him for fullness of life in spirit, soul, body, in family, in finances,
and in every way. Come to Jesus, and take of the water of life freely.
JOB, PAUL, CHASTISEMENT, AND, "IF IT BE THY WILL, O
LORD"--
SOME CLEAR FACTS ON WHICH YOU CAN BASE YOUR FAITH
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivereth him out of them all" (Psa. 34. 19). Notice, it says, all.
JOB
--Scholars say Job's affliction lasted approximately
9 months at the most. Job went through an affliction clearly because of
Satan's strategies (Job 1.6-12; 2.1-7).
--God brought total deliverance to Job, and gave him
twice more than he had before (42.10).
PAUL
--Paul's thorn is expressly stated to be a messenger
of Satan, sent to buffet him because of the abundance of revelations given
to him by God, lest he should be exalted above measure (2 Cor. 12. 7-10).
--God has always given revelation to his people to exalt
them over their enemies--Abraham, Joseph, Ruth, Esther, Job, David, Jesus,
and the early church, and, the true church down through the ages. With
every temptation, with every trial and every test that besets us by the
strategies of Satan, God makes a way of escape. Ps. 37.34.
--Paul expressly stated to Timothy that God gave him
deliverance from every
persecution and every
affliction, and he was confident the Lord would deliver him from every
evil work and present him unto His heavenly kingdom (2 Tim. 3. 11;
4. 18). Surely we can understand that "every"
would include Paul's thorn given by the evil working of Satan. Paul was
delivered from his thorn in the flesh by a revelation of all sufficient
grace. This revelation of grace is no doubt being expressed in Paul's letter
to the Ephesians.
--Paul won thousands to the Lord in his day, and he is
still winning millions to the Lord through his letters. Paul was and is
now being exalted "above measure", in an unlimited way, according to the
promise God made to Abraham (Gen. 22. 17), that his fruitfulness would
be as the stars of the sky and as the sand of the sea-- "above measure".
Paul overcame all things and entered the joy of the Lord, running his course
with joy and victory to the end (2 Tim. 4. 7,8). He is a pattern for us
all (1 Tim. 1. 16).
CHASTISEMENT
--Jesus is the "express image" of the personality of
God (Heb. 1.3). People expressed their concept of God in the Old Testament
by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, with a "knowing in part".The law
was given by the inspiration of the Spirit, as a revelation of God, "in
part" (1 Cor. 13. 12). But Jesus is the full expression of the Father (Jn.
14. 9; Col. 2.9). We can look at Jesus and get the full picturre. We see
that He was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power and went about
doing
good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil;
for God was with Him (Ac. 10. 38). By looking unto Jesus we can see very
clearly that the oppressor is the devil, and God is the deliverer.
--Given this clear understanding of the nature and operation
of God, we can understand that neither God, nor Jesus, ever lays sickness,
hardship, and affliction on His people. He always works to give reproof
and instruction to set people free. With every temptation, test, and trial,
He is always right there with us to show us the way of escape.
--Many people, realizing God's ever-presence to help
us, have interpreted that God lays things such as sickness, disease, and
calamity upon us, particularly when we err, to teach us a lesson. They
call this chastisement. But this concept does not fit in with the over-all
picture of the nature and operation of God we see operating through Jesus.
--Hard times comes from Satan and from us going astray
from the ways of God (Jas. 1. 13-16). Chastisement is God's reproofs and
instruction to us, while we are in the midst of hard times,
to show us the way of escape, and, to train us in His ways to avoid the
same mistakes.
--The word chastisement literally means, "tutorage i.e.
education or training". It is also translated "nurture". Our own stupid,
obstinate ways, and Satan, is the source of our afflictions, not God. God
is always right there with us in the midst of it all to teach and deliver.
"IF IT BE THY WILL, O LORD"
--With an understanding of how God always seeks to exalt
His people over their enemies, and with an understanding of Job's deliverance,
and Paul's deliverance, and with an understanding of chastisement, and
that God gave His only begotten Son, who was bruised and broken for our
healing (Isa. 53. 4, 5), we can only have one conclusion regarding any
sickness
in our life--IT IS ALWAYS GOD'S WILL TO SET US FREE AND HEAL
US. We see Jesus demonstrating this by healing all
(Matt.
8. 16, 17). The early church demonstrated this by healing
all (Ac.
5. 16). We can know and be entirely confident that it is God's will to
heal us and every person. So, we should not pray any prayer
regarding healing, using the words, "If it be thy will...".
It is
God's will to heal.
--If there is a question as to whether it is God's will
to heal, then we should never so much as take an aspirin for a headache
or seek remedy of any kind, since we could be going against the will of
God by so doing. If it is God's will for us to suffer in order to teach
us a lesson, then we should never go to a doctor, for in so doing, we would
be going against the will and purposes of God.
--No. It is always God's will to heal,
either supernaturally, naturally, or through medical science or by using
natural means. To pray the prayer, "If it by Thy will, O Lord" regarding
healing, is a prayer of ignorance of God's Word and Way, and unbelief,
and we are wasting our breath to pray such a way.
Conclusion:
--Jesus said, "If thou canst believe, all things are
possible to him that believeth" (Mk. 9.23). "But without faith it is impossible
to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that
he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Heb. 11. 6). "So then
faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Rom. 10. 17).
--If we will hear the simple Word of God and let faith
arise in our hearts, then we will see that God has made full provision
to heal us, and as we diligently seek Him, believing, we will be rewarded
with the fulfillment of the promise of His Word.
--BE HEALED, IN JESUS' NAME!!
