Introduction:
I awoke at 2:15 A.M. When I got to
my desk and prayed a while, a certain church and ministry came to mind
and these three words came to me: networking, word of faith, and fear of
God. I then wrote the following:
"God is your Source and your Supply.
His family is larger than even what you have heretofore conceived. You
are part of the spirits of just men made perfect. Your family presently
goes beyond even the earthly realm. Your family looks over heaven's portals
and cheers you on to run the race with patience, and complete the course
they themselves began to run.
Jesus stands up for this whole generation,
even as He stood to receive Stephen. He saw the harvest coming in, even
as He saw Stephen lay down his life for the brethren, that they might come
in. Jesus stood, as He saw that for which He sowed His own life, coming
in in great measure through the Apostle Paul.
The Holy Spirit, the teacher, rises
up within the hearts and lives of men, to teach and lead them into all
truth, the truth that liberates and frees all those who will listen to
and adhere to Him.
Now is the time to rise up in Him,
in His power, and proclaim the Word of God just as it is, and so release
the shackles from off the lives of people who sit in bondage and darkness.
The light is come. The glory of the
Lord is risen upon thee. Walk in the glory of His presence each day."
As I read over this and prayed in the
Spirit, I realized this was for everybody. Then I realized that today was
Easter Sunday. As I looked over what I had written, I questioned what the
three words meant. This came to mind (for all):
Networking--by the Holy Ghost with
others of like spirit and mind. God is your covering.
Word of faith--you'll hear more about
this as time goes on.
Fear of God--(giving place to the
Holy Spirit) you are receiving a new understanding of the fear of God.
As I continued to pray and meditate
on what had come to mind, a title formulated, "The Historic Resurrection
Happening Today". The thought behind this is that God's interest is more
than our just rehearsing the historic facts of the resurrection of Jesus
on Easter Sunday. He wants Him to come forth in each of our lives in power
and glory each day.
As I continued to pray and meditate
on all that I was seeing, different passages that I had read through the
past week began to come to mind. I reveiwed some notes I had jotted down
on different days. I had printed out a message a few hours earlier, that
I had published on the web page entitled, "Discipleship: The Fear Of God".
I reviewed this message thinking, "Boy! We all need this!"
With all these
miscellaneous thoughts and ideas, I thought, "Whew, if all this is a single
message coming to me, it will have to be the Lord to put it all together!"
As I continued to pray and meditate
and peruse through the Word, it didn't take long for some passages to "come
alive" to me. As I fed on the Word, I began to see the pattern, and I state
it as follows:
GOD'S DESIRE
He wants to rise up in power and glory
in our lives today. It is the fear of God, giving place to the Holy Spirit,
that allows this to happen. The following are ways of giving place to the
Spirit that brings the manifestation of the resurrection of Jesus in the
lives of people today.
NETWORKING--2Cor.1.8-11a
For the ministry to operate in resurrection
life, there must be faith in God, "in whom we trust", and the help of the
saints "helping together by prayer for us". God's people must be networked
together by the Holy Ghost to cover each other in prayer.
SPEAKING THE WORD OF FAITH--2Cor.4.5-14
The ministry must believe that the
Word that they speak is the power of God unto salvation to every one who
believes. If we believe the Word, we will speak it into our lives and situations,
trusting God to confirm His Word with signs following.
GIVING PLACE TO THE HOLY SPIRIT (THE FEAR OF GOD)--2Cor.13.4
The Word and the Spirit released,
is the resurrection power of God released.
The Spirit is the power of God. In ourselves we are weak,
but through faith, His life is released in us and through us. Through faith,
all that He is and all that He does, becomes our profession and our practice.
As I continued to pray and read through the Word, I saw all this confirmed from another group of scriptures in a different way.
EPH.1.19,20
The great power of God is toward
us as we believe.
COL.1.28,29
The great power of God works in
us to overcome all things and minister this victory out to others by
example to be duplicated. Paul said to duplicate him in 1 Cor.4.9-17, and
we see what we are to duplicate in 2Cor.4.5-14.
COL.3.1-5a
The great power and glory of God will
manifest in our lives according to what things we seek, and
what we set our affection on.
Conclusion:
Jesus wants to resurrect, to rise
up, in the life of every person today. How?
By our networking together in faith, prayer, love, and
in the power of the Holy Ghost, by speaking the Word of faith, and by giving
place to the guidance and promptings of the Holy Spirit (walking in the
fear of God).
In this way, the historic resurrection
will be happening in our lives today.
Offering promise: Blessed to divide with the brethren
Josh.22.7,8
Easter morn.4-23-00
A Thought To Meditate On:
"Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he
that doth keep his soul shall be far from them." Prov.22.5 "froward"
= (6141) "distorted, false".
To "keep" one's soul is liking "keeping
a garden". That means to water, fertilize, pull the weeds and grass out,
and cultivate it. If we just let out soul go, if we don't "keep" it, a
drought will limit the production of the plants or kill them for lack of
water. Or, there won't be abundant production for lack of fertilizer. Or,
the weeds and grass will grow up and choke out the producing plants.
Our soul involves what we see, think,
feel, hear, and do. It is the receiver of what goes on around us in this
world. It gives expression to our mind, emotions, and will.
If we don't govern or control how
we process our environment, then our environment will control us.
Jesus did not allow anything distorted
or false to cling to and dwell in Him. He kept His heart and mind immersed
in the Word of God. That was His constant meditation and message.
When someone came saying, "The girl
is dead", Jesus said, "Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole"
(Lk.8.50).
The Apostle Paul kept his soul stayed
on the Lord. The joy of the Lord was his strength so that he overcame his
adverse environment.
Conclusion:
If we fail to keep our soul, troubles
are like constant thorns and snares that plague us. There is a way to overcome
thorns and snares. Keep your soul.
Be sober. Be vigilent. Watch and pray.
Don't be careless. Don't put yourself in a position to be crushed. Don't
be in a boat with no life jacket if you are not able to swim. Don't drive
a car without liability insurance (USA). Keep your soul.
It is done through faith in and obedience
to the wisdom of the Word.
"Now the just shall live by faith:
but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we
are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe
to the saving of the soul." Heb.10.38,39
