It is the Spirit of God who reveals the Word to us. The Spirit always shows you Jesus, and that you have total victory in every way through His death, burial, resurrection. He is alive today in heaven, praying to the Father for you that you have the power of the Holy Spirit in your daily life.
Here is a picture of the role of the Spirit in the life of the believer: When a soldier is enlisted in the Army, he has a uniform. To go into battle, he needs to have more than just his uniform on. He needs to be fully equipped with all his battle gear--helmet, walkie-talkie, weapons, supply belt, boots, and everything else for battle.
When a person is born again, the Spirit of God takes up residence within. That person is in the "Army",of the family of God. They have the uniform of love. This is "standard issue" to every "soldier."
Our enemies are both natural and supernatural. Our natural way of thinking is an enemy of God, and the devil is a supernatural, spiritual enemy of God. We need to be fully clothed in all our battle gear in order to overcome the natural concepts of our own mind, and the supernatural concepts and devices of the devil. This is what the baptism of the Holy Spirit is for, to give us supernatural, godly, power and ability, with the mind of God being revealed to us, so that we are able to overcome all things. In this way we can become and remain effective witnesses of Jesus Christ.
The purpose of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is expressed in Acts 1:8. Jesus said, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerulsalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" (NKJV).
About 120 disciples were filled with the Spirit, baptized with the Spirit, in the second chapter of Acts. They supernaturally spoke in other languages, were so liberated and filled with joy, people thought they were drunk, and they began sharing Jesus on the street. They shared with such power that about 3,000 people gave their lives to Jesus right away. This is the purpose and power of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
It is a step into the realm of the supernatural putting you on the top and not the bottom. This is very evident throughout the book of Acts.
So, if you want to live your life on the top in the realm of the supernatural power of God, then you want to be filled with, or baptized with the Holy Spirit like they were in the book of Acts.
Receive the following Word of God with an honest heart so you can receive the Holy Spirit in supernatural power upon your life, just like a soldier receives his battle gear and puts it on for victorious battle.
Pray, and ask God to reveal His Word to you. God
will speak clearly to you.
Ask yourself after reading each scripture, "What does
this say to me?" If it is not clear, re-read it. Read the context surrounding
it. If you are hungry for God, then allow Him to speak to you through His
Word.

We, as believers, can receive the Spirit "upon" us for supernatural power and service, through faith. True faith puts action to those beliefs. If we believe we receive, then we do what the Word says to do. We speak, and God gives supernatural utterance, and it is by this same faith that we step out and tell the world about the resurrected, reigning Lord Jesus Christ. We give ourselves to speak, and God fills our mouth with words that will turn people from darkness to light. We become a living witness. This is the presence, power, and purpose and operation of God in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit--to tell the world about Jesus Christ the Lord in such a way so they will believe.
Here are some questions you might consider:
1. As a believer, if there is a greater dimension of the Holy Spirit now available to you, would you want to experience it?
2. Do you want God's full power in your life in order to live a consistent, overcoming Christian life and to be the most effective witness of Jesus that you possibly can?
3. Could you please read Hebrews 13.8? What does that mean to you?
4. Could you please read Mark 7.7-9,13? What does that mean to you? Do you recognize the Word of God to be the authority over the religious traditions of men?
5. Please read John 20.19. What do you see here? Have you ever been afraid to share your faith with others? Now read Acts 2.4,11,14 and Acts 4.13,20. What difference do you see in the disciples after they were filled with the Spirit?
6. Are you willing to be like the first disciples and lay aside all traditional beliefs, friends, family, and all of your life at the feet of Jesus, in order to be baptized (filled) with His Holy Spirit and be a bold witness of Him?
7. Are you ready to ask for the Holy Spirit baptism with the Biblical evidences of speaking in other tongues, prophecy, and praise to God, right now? If not, why not? Is it unclear? Perhaps you need to read the scriptures again.
8. If you are ready to receive all that God has for you, stand on Luke 11.13, ask Heavenly Father to fill you, then act on that faith by giving breath to speak in tongues just as they did in Acts 2.4. When you step out in faith with a sincere, believing heart, God will fill you with His supernatural utterance and ability.
9. Read Acts 4.29-33. Do you see that once you are filled, you can be filled again and again? Read Ephesians 5.17-21. Notice verse 18. The Greek language, in which the New Testament is written, carries the meaning here that says, "be being filled with the Spirit." Then, verses 19-21 tells you how.
10. Read 2 Timothy 1.6-8. What is the end result of stirring up the gift of God that is not the spirit of fear, but of love, power, and a sound mind?
