“…all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may call upon the name of the Lord, to serve him with one consent…and they shall trust in the name of the Lord. The remnant…shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth…none shall make them afraid.” Zephaniah 3:9-13 KJV italics mine
The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the deep and God spoke with a pure language, and worlds were created. Love spoke, and change was enacted. It was global, and beyond. Genesis 1:1-3; 1 John 4:16
The Spirit of God moved upon the prophets of old and they spoke, and God’s people received provision and guidance, and they were led into the promised land. Those same prophets, by that same Spirit, spoke of the coming Messiah, and it came to pass. His name is Jesus. He is love come in the flesh, who is given for the salvation of the whole world, and beyond.
Jesus came and was anointed by that same Spirit of God by which the worlds were created and by which the prophets spoke. By that same Spirit of love, Jesus spoke, and people were released from sin, healed of sickness, set free from demons, raised from the dead, and given the promise of eternal life. By yielding to the Spirit of God to speak, Jesus, the Son of God, demonstrated Himself as the Lord (Ruler), as Jesus (Savior identifying with Humanity), and as Christ (Anointed by the Spirit of God). All that we, as sons and daughters of God need, every provision and all power, are all embodied in the person and speaking in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Followers of Jesus who were hungry and thirsty for all that He is and for all that He has, were gathered together in prayer. The same Spirit of creation, the same Spirit of the prophets of old, the same Spirit that was upon Jesus, was poured out according to the promise of the Father upon every person, from the least to the greatest. They yielded their all to the Lord, and by that same Spirit, they all began to speak! This move of God through His yielded believers, is still reaching the whole world. It is God, speaking with a pure language through His sons and daughters, to reach the whole world for Jesus Christ. This is shown in the book of Acts.
God’s purpose is to get His people to speak! God has ordained that by the foolishness of preaching, His purposes are carried out through believers of His Word, who are yielded to His Spirit. Through these people, God speaks to accomplish His work on an individual and on a global scale.
When we believe the Word of God, and yield to the Spirit of God to speak in the supernatural power of the Spirit of God, then God’s creative, redemptive work is released in the earth—sins are forgiven, bodies are healed, minds are freed from oppression, miracles are released, and circumstances are changed. God’s Word released is for the good of all humanity and for the glory of God. God’s word runs “very swiftly” upon the earth through believers speaking by the Holy Spirit. Psalms 147:15
The Key is to Believe the Word and Yield All to the Lord.
Satan does not want this “pure language of God” being spoken through God’s people. The enemy knows this is what destroys his kingdom of darkness world-wide. When God’s people speak words of God by the power of God, Satan’s kingdoms of darkness that have been built over eons of time, crumble! Satan’s kingdoms crumble at the words spoken by the Holy Spirit through the blood-washed, redeemed people of God.
The enemy does not fear Bible knowledge in itself. He can quote scriptures all day long. He does not fear religious opinion and theology. He does not fear religious experiences. He can inspire it all. He can also inspire people to speak deceitful lies and words of unbelief and skeptical criticism, and tear each other down. The enemy can give inspiration by his spirits.
But God also gives inspiration today by His Holy Spirit. The greatest fear of the enemy is that a believer yield to God to speak words inspired by the Spirit of God. The enemy fears the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ being spoken by the inspiration of the Spirit. He fears prayer in the Spirit, praying in unknown tongues. Every syllable of the words of the gospel and of prayer in the Spirit dismantles the enemy’s devices and brings about his demise. The enemy must submit to and obey the words that are initiated and spoken by the power of the Holy Spirit coming through a believer.
This is why the devil distracts us from the gospel being preached. This is why he opposes speaking in tongues so much. If he can’t get people to believe that tongues are not for us today, he will do things to discredit those who do speak with tongues. He will inspire people to use the gift for a prideful display of self. He will inspire people to think it is not really useful, or that it is optional to what God wants to accomplish. He will inspire people to think that it is just for some and not for others.
The enemy does not want believers to be praying in tongues and preaching the gospel in the power of the Spirit (1 Peter 1:12). He knows this is the pure language of God. He knows this is the basic supernatural battle ax of the Spirit that destroys his kingdom of darkness (Ephesians 6:17-18; Hebrews 4:12). He does not want believers stepping through fear by the Spirit and boldly preaching this gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. He does not want believers praying at will with the Spirit, utilizing this supernatural gift to obliterate his religious lies. He knows this gift brings revelation of truth and light that sets people free in the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 14:15,18
As demonstrated in the book of Acts, speaking in tongues is Standard Operating Procedure. Praying in tongues coupled with the preaching of the gospel, are the pure language of God flowing through a yielded believer allowing God to speak through them in a supernatural way. Along with tongues, there is prophecy, which is speaking words by the Spirit of God in one’s own language. There are Spirit-anointed teaching and exhortation. There are words of wisdom, words of knowledge, words of faith, words of discerning and revealing spirits, and words releasing miracles. In short, by yielding to the Spirit of God, we have words spoken “in season to him that is weary.” They are all designed to set the captive free, and build the saints up strong in the faith. Isaiah 50:4; Luke 4:18-19; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
It is “out of the mouth of babes and sucklings” that God has “ordained strength” because of the enemy. It is clear in God’s Word that He uses vessels being yielded to Him in child-like faith to “still the enemy and the avenger.” Words spoken by the Spirit of God through the least believer, even a child, stops the enemy cold! Psalms 8:2; Matthew 21:16
Jesus taught that unless we humble ourselves and become as a little child, we will miss the things of the kingdom of God. True humility is believing all of God’s Word, and yielding all to the Lord (who is
“that Spirit”), and receiving all the Spirit has for us. That is true humility and reverence to God. Matthew 18:1-4; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Do not be deceived. God has much more for you, and He has much more to do through you, than you realize. God is no respecter of persons. The issue is not your importance or lack of importance. The importance is allowing God to speak through you. The issue is not your ability or lack of ability. The issue is allowing God’s ability to operate through you. Our part is to believe and yield. God’s part is to perform His works. We are just the “donkey,” who receives and carries the treasure of His holy, powerful Word and presence to the people. And when Jesus, the Word, comes into town, He overturns the tables of religious bondage and deceit, and brings healing to the people. It is all by yielding to the Spirit to speak. Matthew 21:1-14
Do not be deceived by what man teaches. Do not be deceived by what your mind reasons. Do not be deceived by what you feel. God wants to speak through you in a supernatural way by His Spirit.
The “pure language” is God speaking through you. It does not come from your understanding, or your feelings, or your emotional experiences, or your religious beliefs and opinions. It is plain and simple. The pure language is you allowing and cooperating with God so God speaks His perfect word and will through you by His Spirit. Romans 8:26-27
Are you hungry and thirsty enough to allow God to do in your life whatever He so desires? Will you choose to be humble enough to ask Him to have His way completely, and trust Him for that? Will you yield all to Him as the Spirit of God moves upon the face of the depths of your life, and allow Him to create a “pure language” in your life? The loving Father has only good things for you. He wants to speak through you. Yield all to Him.
“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13 KJV
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:4 KJV
“…them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven…” 1 Peter 1:12
