Pray Without Ceasing, Praying Always

Romans 12: 12 “continuing instant in prayer.” (“to be earnest towards, persevere, be constantly diligent, to attend assiduously all the exercises, to adhere closely to (as a servitor).” Strong’s Concordance G4342

1 Thessalonians 5: 17 “Pray without ceasing.”

Ephesians 6: 17 “And take…the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance…”

Why pray without ceasing? Because there is a lot of work that needs to be done in the earth, and God has ordained to choose human vessels through which He speaks and performs His works. Just like God spoke in creation and things happened out of nothing, now we are vessels through which He speaks for the creation of righteousness, right things, in the earth today. Therefore, we are to give ourself to remaining in the attitude of prayer and praying without ceasing. We can do it by prayers with our understanding, and by prayers with the Spirit, praying in tongues.

God has ordained that we be supernaturally fruitful, and to accomplish that, we do it through prayer, by trusting God, by relegating the work to God. In this way we become instruments through which God works. It starts with God praying through us by the Spirit that dwells in us. Romans 8: 26-27; 1 John 3: 24b

Two functions of prayer are that it is both fellowship with God, and it is fulfilling the finished work of Jesus (Colossians 1: 24). The Spirit can speak through us as we yield to the groanings (sighs) of the Spirit. When we pray according to the Spirit, we are releasing that which Jesus has already accomplished to be demonstrated in the earth today. So, prayer is both a means of fellowship with God and a means of fulfilling our responsibility to accomplish God’s work on the earth. Romans 8: 26-27

A third function of prayer is worship. When you just cannot express yourself in known words, then God gives words of the Spirit in unknown tongues, by which to express ourself in worship and praise and thanksgiving. We can “give thanks well” in our known language, and “give thanks well” in our unknown tongues language. 1 Corinthians 14: 17

A fourth function of prayer is for revelation. Paul said when you come together some will have a psalm, some a doctrine (a teaching), a tongue, a revelation, and an interpretation (1 Corinthians 14: 26). Praying in the Spirit, under the inspiration and direction of the Spirit, is a means of receiving revelation from God.

Testimony About Tongues and Revelation

When I was about 22 years old, I was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. I later came under spiritual attack, and stumbled in my walk with the Lord. In time I started turning back to the Lord. I would walk up and down the street late at night praying and seeking the mind of the Lord. One night I began wondering if I could still speak in tongues like I had once experienced. I opened my mouth and gave it breath and behold! There it was! It was there all the time.

So, I began praying in tongues in my prayer time. Then I came under attack in my mind with thoughts coming to me that tongues were of the devil, this was stupid, and I was wasting my time and energy praying in tongues. I went to the Word and saw for sure that it was in the Word. So, for nights to come I resumed praying in tongues.

Then, the attack on my mind was even more vicious. This time I said, “Ok. I’m going to study this thing out.” I did a Genesis to Revelation study on the power of words and the power of the tongue. I saw how there is great power in words spoken. I related all that I saw about the power of words to the use of tongues. I came to the conclusion that the devil is scared spitless of people getting the revelation of the power of praying in tongues. He will pull all kinds of tricks to keep people from praying in tongues.

Bolstered with the revelation of what the Word says about the power of tongues, I gave myself to praying in tongues without ceasing. I trained myself to be praying in tongues from the time I got up in the morning to the time I went to bed at night. If in a conversation, when the other person was speaking, I was praying in tongues inwardly, undetected. When alone, I prayed out loud as in normal conversation.

I would get revelation of the Word and of the finished work of Jesus Christ. I would record it on a microcassette tape recorder as I walked and prayed. Then I would go to the house and transcribe it word-for-word.  This lifestyle of prayer went on for years. To this day, ninety percent of my praying is with the Spirit in my tongue’s language. I have found that we can literally “pray without ceasing” and “pray always” at will by use of praying with our understanding and praying with our spirit using our tongues prayer language (1 Corinthians 14: 15). And, I have noticed, the more I pray in tongues, the more revelation I receive of the Lord Jesus Christ with a focus on His finished work. Getting the heavenly perspective comes by the Holy Spirit, not just by mental study and information. Such communion with the Lord, by praying without ceasing, helps keep the focus on the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father and abiding in Him.

Prayer Meeting

The Bible gives guidelines for a prayer meeting. In reality, since the church, the house of God, the people of God, are called the house of prayer, prayer should be first and foremost in the church meeting so that the church meeting issues from prayer.

Prayer is to be first, and in prayer, worship is to be first. In Jesus’ guide on how to pray in Matthew 6: 9, He put worship to God first— “Hallowed by thy name.” With this first, we see Paul telling Timothy in 1 Timothy 2: 1 that “first of all” there should be “supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks” for all people. We see here that all the aspects of prayer are plural. So, there are to be different kinds of supplications, different ways of praying, multiple kinds of intercessions and abundance of giving of thanks, and all this for all people. The prayer/church meeting is to be a diverse operation of the Spirit of God.

We also see how prayer under the direction of the Spirit activates the armor of God for the defense and strength of the warrior of the Lord. Ephesians 6: 18 says “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.” Prayer under the direction of the Spirit activates the armor of God. The armor of God consists of spiritual components in our life that operate by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. As we pray by the inspiration of the Spirit, we become an active warrior carrying out the will of God by the power of God.

Putting on the armor is more than just having a mental picture of each piece and an assent to and confession of possessing each piece of the armor. Putting on the armor is fellowship with the Father, Son, and Spirit through prayer and hearing from God. God’s Spirit, Word and presence are our armor. It operates by prayer, all kinds of prayer—prayers with our known language, prayers in our unknown tongue, and prayers of the groanings from our spirit man, quiet prayers, loud prayers, and tearful prayers—however the Spirit leads is the way we are to pray. The main thing is to give place to and yield to the Spirit. It is through worship that we can enter into this place of the holy presence of God. By the eternal blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His righteousness imputed to us, we can enter into this place with God with all boldness and liberty. Hebrews 10: 19-23

We should not be afraid to open our mouth boldly and loudly and release the prayers of our heart in our known language or in our unknown language. We are in a prayer meeting! It is time to pray! It is not for show or shame! It the time to pour our heart out to God. In James 5: 16 it says, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” This is praying from your heart to God’s heart. This kind of praying avails much.

Being liberated in worship to God and in true prayer brings revelation. Pen and paper, or some kind of recording device, needs to be handy in every true prayer meeting. (Somebody taking notes is how we got the Bible). Prayer inspired by the Spirit opens the heavens, the Spirit realm, so revelation flows like a river. 1 Corinthians 14: 26 says, “How is it then, brethren? When you come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.” Paul was talking to a Spirit-filled church in which tongues, prophecy and other manifestations of the Spirit were in operation, including, revelation.

God is not trying to hide anything from us. He wants to reveal by the Spirit what no fleshly eyes have seen, even the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2: 12 tells us that He wants us to know the things “that are freely given to us of God.”

God so graciously works within the abilities and understanding that we have. That is good. We see some results. But there is always more. When we shift from the limitation of our abilities and understanding into the unlimited realm of the Spirit, we enter the realm of “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” spoken of in Ephesians 3:20. This is the kind of prayer and ministry realm that Jesus and the early church lived in. This realm is what God desires for us to enter into and dwell.

God is a big God, and He wants us to pray big by the Spirit. Zerubbabel was to build the house of God, but it was not going to be built by the might or power of man’s understanding and ability. It was going to be built by the Spirit of God flowing with a continuous supply of the golden anointing oil of God through His people. This anointing comes by believing prayer inspired by the Spirit of God and by our yielding to the promptings and guidance of that same Spirit.

Being born again, baptized in the fire of the Spirit, and being led by that same Spirit—this is the simplicity of God’s program for the church today. It is simply following the Lord Jesus Christ. It commences, continues and consummates by all kinds of prayer inspired by the Spirit of God. The key is to get into that place in the Spirit so the golden oil of God flows freely. From this will be abundant fruitfulness in doing the same works of Jesus, and more. Zechariah 4; John 14: 12-14

Biblical Evidences of Being Filled with the Holy Spirit

Acts 2: 1-4; 8: 14-17; 9:17/1 Corinthians 14:18; 10: 46; 13: 52; 19: 1-6

First, let’s remove our religious glasses. Let’s just open the Bible and read it as it is and follow the leading of the Spirit to help us receive and yield to the Spirit of God.

New languages. God’s goal is for us to speak with boldness. The Spirit gave yielded people utterance in unknown tongues on the day of Pentecost when they were filled with the Spirit. By this operation of the Spirit, the hearers heard, repented and believed in Jesus Christ—3000 were saved. The people heard the gospel in their own language. This was the operation of the Spirit on the day of Pentecost in order to get people saved. Tongues are also for the purpose of self-edification to strengthen us to carry out the Great Commission. Both purposes are the operation of the Spirit today through faith in Jesus Christ and by receiving and yielding to the Spirit of God. Acts 1 & 2

Prophecy. This is speaking words under the inspiration of the Spirit to set people free, both lost and saved. Peter, filled with the Spirit on the day of Pentecost, spoke under the inspiration of the Spirit in his native language. The people were obviously hearing in their own language, as 3,000 people understood and were saved.

Acts 20: 23; Acts 21:9; Acts 21:11; Acts 28:25-27

Love. The love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit will reach out to others with the truth of the gospel with no condemnation. The love of God is willing to lay down one’s life for the sake of others to the glory of God.

Acts 2: 14—Peter and company to same people who killed Jesus; Romans 5: 5

Boldness. There is no fear in love. Perfect, mature love, casts out fear. With no fear of what people think, one is very bold to obey God’s voice and carry out His will in setting people free. Being filled with the Spirit gives us boldness in love to speak the gospel.

Acts 2: 14/1 John 4: 17-18; Acts 4: 31; Acts 7: 55; Acts 13: 9

Signs, wonders, miracles, healing and deliverance.  God has always been a signs and wonders, healing, delivering God. This was in the Old Testament, it was in the ministry of Jesus, and it was in the operation of the early Spirit-filled church—all by God’s Spirit.

Acts 6: 5, 8

Fruit of the Spirit. Holiness. Sanctification. Being full of the Spirit is a life being changed into the character of Christ. You walk what you talk in the character of Christ by faith.

Acts 13: 52—joy; Galatians 5: 22

Lives transformed and set free. A change is implemented in our heart. The Word and things of God become precious to us and Jesus is the focus of our life. Love, truth, holiness and liberty become our mode of operation. We experience liberation more and more as we follow on to know the Lord in the power of constantly yielding to His Spirit—filled and overflowing to the praise and glory of God.

At Home with the Name

The church started in a house, in an upper room. I want to direct your attention to what the Word of God says: Luke 22:10 (9-38) / Acts 1:13

References indicating a house:

Acts     2:38

            4:31 / 5:20, 42

            8:3

            10: 2

            11: 14

            16: 15, 31

20: 20

The church was not given a name. They were simply recognized as people of love and boldness, who were witnesses, who had been with Jesus. Acts 1:8; Acts 4:13

They were simply followers of Jesus who lived and operated in the name of Jesus. They were operating as a joint-heir with Jesus, sons and daughters of God. Acts 4:18

In that name was/is embodied the person of the Father, the person of the Son, and the person of the Holy Spirit, in which is all power. In the name of Jesus, they were authorized to go and make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:18-20

In that name they were to be instruments through which the Lord would do miracles in and through them. They would speak and operate in supernatural love and power.

Mark 16: 15-20

In that name they had power to set people free from sin by preaching the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. Luke 28:46-49; John 20: 21-23

Conclusion:

Regardless of where you are or what label you might be associated with, you are to carry the name of Jesus. You are in the family of God. You are in the name of Jesus. You are to live and operate in the life and character of Jesus, and in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit and accomplish what the Father has planned for you to accomplish.

The church starts in the home in the name of Jesus, and is to reach to the ends of the earth through the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Artificial Intelligence

The rage of the age with us now is AI (Artificial Intelligence). Anytime we google anything, AI is right there with the answer. My understanding is that they have taken vast amounts of information about everything known to man and put it all into one bucket called AI. There, it is shaken together, mixed around, and put together as a logical conclusion based on all the information at hand. When a question is asked on the internet, it just goes to that bucket and draws out the answer from all that collaborated information. Granted, my understanding of AI might be a little oversimplified, but it works for me, and I am happy with it. AI is like pistols and rifles—they are good and useful in themselves; it is how they are used by man that is good or evil. Or, as I read of one analogy, forks and spoons are good and very useful and convenient in themselves—harmless; but how they are used can make you fat. I like to try to get the big picture on things, the overview. It seems that AI can provide the overview of things based on the vast amount of information it draws from. However, when a man’s sneaky little finger gets in there and uses that information for a twisted purpose to justify himself or to control other people, then we have a problem. Man is historically known to have such propensities, so with that awareness, we should be paying attention to what we read and see. We have an AI in Christ Jesus our Lord—Authority and Identification. God’s answers come through His authority and identification with Him. God, through Jesus Christ, has all authority, dominion and power forever. Every man, with all his opinions, reasoning, analysis, justification and collaboration of information, will ultimately lay it all down and give account to God for his life according to God’s terms. God’s terms of abundant life here and hereafter are offered in the person of His Spirit-anointed Son, Jesus. That’s where identification comes in. When we lay our life down at the feet of Jesus, and receive Him and His work for us as our right-standing with God, then we have met God’s terms of abundant and eternal life. As we learn to draw on Him, on His authority, and as we learn to draw on our identification with Him as our mode of operation in daily life, we are able to experience positive change. We gain understanding that is empowering and beneficial to us and to others. It is a new life with release from bondage and peace and joy and being liberated in His healing power. We can learn to live life in His AI, in His authority and by identification with Him. He, Jesus Christ, is God’s terms for full, complete and eternal life. It is all in Him. Everything we need is in Jesus, the Spirit-anointed Son of God. Drawing from God’s AI, we can live forever.

Clarity of Vision

Since writing my book with the green sunglasses on the front cover, I have learned something more about green sunglasses. Years ago, they developed some green lens sunglasses for military aviators. They greatly enhanced clarity and glare resistance. This enabled pilots to more accurately make correct judgments about the targets being pursued. Lesson: The lenses we are looking through makes a difference in our life! There are all kinds of lenses. Today, the internet says that there are over 43,000 Christian denominations world-wide and over 4,000 different religions. Whether you believe those figures or not, the fact is that if you drive down a highway in Arkansas, you are going to see a variety of church labels. They all have different “lenses” that causes them to see from that particular point of view. I was raised Baptist. My wife was raised Assembly of God. Some are Church of Christ, Seventh Day Adventist, Nazarene, Methodist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, and on it goes. Different people through the years passed these “glasses” out, and we put them on. In many cases, it is better to have some glasses on than not being able to see at all. In other cases, the glasses have worked against us and have kept us from seeing the truth of Jesus Christ. When we die and face God in judgement—that will happen whether we believe it or not—we will have all religious lenses removed. There will be an eye examination to determine if we are seeing one thing. John the Baptist said it like this: See the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world and baptizes with the Holy Ghost (John 1:29-33). Jesus said it to Nicodemus like this: As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so that anyone who just looked at the serpent on the pole would be healed, so must the Son of man be lifted up on a pole. Whoever sees Jesus, who believes in and trusts in His work for them for salvation and commits their life to Him, the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ—this person will be saved (John 3:14-17; Numbers 21:9). Now, it would be well for us to exchange the religious lenses we are looking through, and put on the green lensed glasses of God’s perspective (Revelation 4:2-3). By this, we can clearly see His Son Jesus Christ. Salvation for us and for the world is only through Jesus Christ—not what man has established. We are to simply follow Jesus Christ. The saving, healing, delivering fire of God’s truth and presence is in the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. By faith in His blood, we are freed from sin and death. Through “faith of the operation of God,” we are “buried with Him in baptism” (Colossians 2:12) By faith, all our sins, sicknesses and oppressions are put away, and we are raised with Him in new life. The only lens we need to see through is the Lord Jesus Christ.

That Sweet Anointing

Sunday morning, Easter, dressed, right before we go to church, I step outside to put a new trash bag in the large, trash barrel. We had our Easter festivities the day before—a potluck dinner and egg hunt and games for the kids. We have discovered the kids love to play with water pistols. We had a generous supply of little pistols handy and two five-gallon buckets of water ready for pistol “ammo.” Immediately after the meal and egg hunt, the water began to fly among the kids and a few certain “adults” (yours truly). We had a grand good time. Back to the trash barrel. I had emptied the trash barrel the day before, and I knew we would be having guests Sunday afternoon. I wanted to get a trash bag in the clean barrel before anyone put something messy directly in the barrel. That would require a barrel cleaning. Gotta keep that thing clean or the ants have a hey-day. I pop the trash bag open to lower it into the barrel, not noticing our hummingbird feeder directly above it. My head raises up and bumps the feeder, spilling a goodly amount of the sugar water on my head. Well, we needed to leave for church, and I did not want to have to go in and go through the routine of fixing it. I just made sure the right hairs were in the right place to let it dry, while off to church we go. So, Easter morning, I go to church with a sweet anointing of sugar water on my head. I did find out that if you want your hair to stay in place, put sugar water on it. A tornado would probably not mess your hair up! Anointed with the anointing of sweetness—that was my thought as I went to church. That is what we all need. We need to be anointed with the anointing of sweetness by the Spirit of God. I thought of Jesus, how the Word says He was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power who went about doing good, healing all who were oppressed by the devil. Even though Jesus was anointed with the sweet Holy Spirit of God, doing good for all people who were sick and suffering, still, the wicked, critical religious people hated Him and opposed what He was doing. But the sweet anointing of the Holy Spirit did not cave to religious opposition. In fact, that sweet anointing went into the temple and overtured the tables of merchandising God’s people, and ran the hucksters out who were just making a living on God’s people. Jesus, anointed with the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit, turned the temple into a prayer and healing center (Matthew 21:12-15). Social clubs are for the world. The sweet anointing of the Spirit is for the church, so the world can come and be healed in spirit, soul and body by the power of God. We need that sweet anointing.

Dishwasher Safe

Barb likes the dishwasher. My personal preference is to handwash the dishes right after use, dry them and put them away. That disorder goes back to the fact that I am “three-inch screw.” Being labelled “three-inch screw” goes back to the time we were taking some adjustable shelves off the wall using a hand screw driver. I had put the shelves up hastily, using a power screw driver. I could not find any screws lying around except some three-inch screws. Well, I just zipped them right in there to put those little adjustable shelf rails on the wall. An inch and a half screw would have been plenty, but as it went easy and hasty with the power tool, in they went. Well, taking them out at a later date with a hand screw driver was an arduous task that evoked much griping and complaining by the operator, yours truly. With the wife hearing and seeing all the fuming and commotion, I was promptly labelled “three-inch screw” for using three-inch screws for those little shelf rails. I must admit to the fact that I am a tad bit on the anal side when it comes to doing things, shall we say, opposite of sloppy and half-way. And that propensity is exactly why I like to hand wash dishes. I like to give individual attention to each coffee cup to make sure there is not one coffee stain on the inside walls or bottom of the cup. I know, a well-stained cup is said to carry a better cup of coffee, but some of us are just that way. We think we have to get everything just right. Loosen up! But, when unloading the dishwasher, sometimes I find some dishes that are not perfectly clean. I concede to the use of the dishwasher, going along with just sticking them in there and running that pre-programmed cycle for expediency and ease. However, it sometimes falls short of that individual scrubbing that always produces a nice, clean and shiny dish or utensil. Things that are “dishwasher safe” can be run through that programmed cycle and maybe come out clean, with no permanent change to the dish or utensil. Did you know there are lot of church attendees who are dishwasher safe? We can go through the programmed church cycle, and we may or may not come out clean. There is one thing for sure, we are resilient to permanent change. You know, it would be good to turn the religious dishwasher off sometimes and hand-wash each individual “dish” and “utensil.” Each one would receive personal attention until clean. The needed change would be put into effect! “But that is a lot of work!” we gingerly complain. “Yes, it is,” comes the reply, “but the change would be thorough and permanent.” When each person has a personal encounter with God, we call that “conversion.” The Lord Jesus Christ becomes central in our life instead of us just running through another programmed religious cycle.

Easter: The Meaning

I found it interesting in Acts 12:4 that Herod, who had already killed the apostle James, was going to deal with Peter “after Easter.” No doubt, Herod was making a favorable political move to not offend the Jewish leaders in violating Easter. Curious about the exact meaning of Easter, I went to the Greek language in the concordance and Mr. Wikipedia and other online information about the origin of the term Easter. “Easter,” in the Greek is “pascha” which means “Passover.” In all my years of walking with the Lord, I never stopped to look the word up. I was actually surprised at it’s meaning. I just associated Easter with Jesus’ resurrection, and bunnies, and getting the fresh grass mowed, and not planting certain things in the garden until after Easter (some of your older folks can identify with that last item). But I was glad to learn that, and in reading Wikipedia, I was impressed on how clearly the gospel and the facts about Easter were presented. So, I’ll just give you the quote to pass it along to you: “Easter celebrates Jesus’ supernatural resurrection from the dead, which is one of the chief tenets of the Christian faith. Paul writes that, for those who trust in Jesus’s death and resurrection, ‘death is swallowed up in victory.’ The First Epistle of Peter declares that God has given believers ‘a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.’ Christian theology holds that, through faith in the working of God, those who follow Jesus are spiritually resurrected with him so that they may walk in a new way of life and receive eternal salvation, and can hope to be physically resurrected to dwell with him in the Kingdom of Heaven. Easter is linked to Passover and the Exodus from Egypt recorded in the Old Testament through the Last Supper, sufferings, and crucifixion of Jesus that preceded the resurrection. According to the three Synoptic Gospels, Jesus gave the Passover meal a new meaning, as in the upper room during the Last Supper he prepared himself and his disciples for his death. He identified the bread and cup of wine as his body, soon to be sacrificed, and his blood, soon to be shed. The Apostle Paul states in his First Epistle to the Corinthians: ‘Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast—as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.’ This refers to the requirement in Jewish law that Jews eliminate all chametz, or leavening, from their homes in advance of Passover, and to the allegory of Jesus as the Passover lamb.” This quote ties it all together nicely. Our resurrected Lord Jesus Christ has impacted this whole world in a tremendous way, and the biggest one is yet to come. Take this Easter to give Jesus your whole life, be rid of sin (leavening), and be ready to meet Him in the air.

Ladies Liberated

Jesus came to a loose-living, man-loving woman in Samaria and poured Living Water into her. When she met the man Jesus, and “perceived” that He was that prophesied “Christ,” the Spirit-anointed Messiah, she immediately left what she was doing. She went back into the city to the men of that city, and told them she met the Christ. Many heard and believed. Jesus stayed in Samaria a couple of days and many more believed on Christ because of His own word to them. One woman got the revelation of Jesus Christ and rocked a whole city—and Jesus never forbade her to speak. In fact, He went and backed her up on what she was saying (John 4:1-42). The Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost on men and women. All were filled and began to speak out about the “wonderful works of God” (Acts 2:1-13). Peter explained this was the fulfillment of Joel’s prophesy, “I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and daughters shall prophesy…my servants…my handmaidens…shall prophesy…and whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:16-21). Paul wrote to the legally influenced Galatians and said, “For ye are all children of God by faith in Jesus Christ. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:26-28). Yes, Paul, using scriptural authority corrected two situations with talkative, pushy, domineering women who were eager to learn (1 Corinthians 14:34-35; 1 Timothy 2:11-15). But he continually had to correct talkative, pushy, domineering men who were preaching another gospel and another Jesus and another spirit to the church (1 Timothy 1:3). Paul’s correction to the women was in no way a mandate across the board to muzzle the maidens! In no way was Paul negating the prophecies of old and the work of Jesus Christ to set all men and women free and on fire for Him! Yes, men and women have their place and their position in the home. Their place is to be mutually supportive team members to work together to have a godly home. This is to continue in the church and in society. Men and women are to work together as mutually supportive team members to get the work of the Lord done in the power of His anointing under His direction. Adam and Eve (before sin), Jesus and the Samarian woman, Paul and Phobe (and other women), Aquila and Priscilla, Philip and his four daughters—all these and more are a fulfillment of sons and daughters working together. The fields are ready to harvest. The time is short. The need is great. Men! Women! Boys! Girls! Rise up in the power of His anointing and pay no attention to the nay-sayers. Joyfully reap the harvest! Rock the city for Jesus!
