There was a time when I was the known “driver” to remind certain ones of my family to drink more water. I realized many years ago the benefits of drinking lots of pure water. As I watched certain members of my family go through some severe health issues, I realized that much of it stemmed from lack of water, so I could not be silent. Over a long period of time, with much prayer and lots of playfully “pushy” persuasion, that said member is now a champion of drinking water with all the attached benefits of doing so. About 60 percent of the body is water, and about 70 percent of the brain is water. Body tissue is cleansed by lymphatic fluid that works by muscular contraction and by being well hydrated. For bodily tissue to be well cleansed, stay active and drink lots of water. Crud build up in your system gives rise to a low immune system and sickness and disease. It is a choice we make and a mindset we take. Train yourself to drink plenty of water and live better and look better. Well hydrated skin looks and feels better.
There is also a spiritual water that is good for us. Jesus said that if any man thirsts, let him come unto him and drink. He said those who believe on him, as the scripture has said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. He was talking about receiving the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39). The promise of God to believers is for them to have rivers of life through the power of the Holy Spirit. There is a river of love, liberty, and forgiveness; there is a river of healing, wisdom, and joy; there is a river of favor and financial provision; and there is a river of faith, stability and steadfastness in the face of adversity. To live a well hydrated life through the Holy Spirit is to live an abundant life in every way. The Holy Spirit to the born again believer is what water is to the natural body. Can we live without that abundance of water? Yes. Can we live in the “life more abundantly” way with it? Yes. Jesus said the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but that he came to give life “more abundantly” (John 10:10). Take “more abundantly.” Drink more “water.”
