Clarity of Vision

Since writing my book with the green sunglasses on the front cover, I have learned something more about green sunglasses. Years ago, they developed some green lens sunglasses for military aviators. They greatly enhanced clarity and glare resistance. This enabled pilots to more accurately make correct judgments about the targets being pursued. Lesson: The lenses we are looking through makes a difference in our life! There are all kinds of lenses. Today, the internet says that there are over 43,000 Christian denominations world-wide and over 4,000 different religions. Whether you believe those figures or not, the fact is that if you drive down a highway in Arkansas, you are going to see a variety of church labels. They all have different “lenses” that causes them to see from that particular point of view. I was raised Baptist. My wife was raised Assembly of God. Some are Church of Christ, Seventh Day Adventist, Nazarene, Methodist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, and on it goes. Different people through the years passed these “glasses” out, and we put them on. In many cases, it is better to have some glasses on than not being able to see at all. In other cases, the glasses have worked against us and have kept us from seeing the truth of Jesus Christ. When we die and face God in judgement—that will happen whether we believe it or not—we will have all religious lenses removed. There will be an eye examination to determine if we are seeing one thing. John the Baptist said it like this: See the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world and baptizes with the Holy Ghost (John 1:29-33). Jesus said it to Nicodemus like this: As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so that anyone who just looked at the serpent on the pole would be healed, so must the Son of man be lifted up on a pole. Whoever sees Jesus, who believes in and trusts in His work for them for salvation and commits their life to Him, the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ—this person will be saved (John 3:14-17; Numbers 21:9). Now, it would be well for us to exchange the religious lenses we are looking through, and put on the green lensed glasses of God’s perspective (Revelation 4:2-3). By this, we can clearly see His Son Jesus Christ. Salvation for us and for the world is only through Jesus Christ—not what man has established. We are to simply follow Jesus Christ. The saving, healing, delivering fire of God’s truth and presence is in the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. By faith in His blood, we are freed from sin and death. Through “faith of the operation of God,” we are “buried with Him in baptism” (Colossians 2:12) By faith, all our sins, sicknesses and oppressions are put away, and we are raised with Him in new life. The only lens we need to see through is the Lord Jesus Christ.
