A man had been weed-eating and was sitting at an outdoor table re-stringing his weed-eater. I was a care-giver at my client’s place. I knew the man, and he knew me, and that I follow Jesus. The man was a “rough” man, with every other word a curse word. I asked him, “Can you find any fault with Jesus?” Immediately he went off on churches and preachers. I let him rant a minute, then I brought him back to the question. He continued to rant and curse preachers and churches. The third time I brought him back to the question. This time he did squeeze in a little acknowledgment saying, “Well, there’s nothing wrong with Jesus, but…” and off he went again vilifying the churches. In every difference of experience, opinion and interpretation, Jesus is right. So, let’s look at Jesus. He reveals Himself to a woman at Samaria by word of knowledge. She is transformed in her thinking, having encountered the prophesied Christ, and she goes into the city and tells all the men about Jesus the Christ, the Spirit-anointed Messiah. Jesus never stopped her from going and talking to the men. Jesus is right.
Women were under the rulership of men from the fall, to Jesus. This was not by God’s original order, but by the consequences of man’s practice of sin. Jesus started changing that. Then, the Spirit was poured out and sons and daughters were set to “prophesy.” Greek meaning of the word is “to speak under inspiration of the Spirit; to hold the office of prophet” (Strong’s Concordance G4395). The Apostle Paul gets the revelation that in the kingdom of God there is neither male nor female. Now, men no longer rule over women; they both walk side-by-side as in the beginning. Now, they are to mutually support one another in what God calls each to accomplish in His kingdom. Yes, they each have a role; yes, disorder in both men and women is to be corrected. But commitment to and sharing Jesus is right in any setting, and in any level of society, from the government on down. By the way, I appreciate Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders having the Faith-Based Initiatives office in her administration, and the 10:33 Initiative Program. This woman is not ashamed of Jesus in any setting. Jesus has set women free to run governments and preach Jesus in churches and in every level of society. Who is man to tell them to shut up? We must see the big picture in scripture and in society. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He told His disciples at Samaria, the harvest is white, ready to reap. He endorsed the Samaritan woman going into the village and telling all the men about Himself. God wants to use men, women, boys, girls, and even donkeys and rocks if He has to.
And by the way, in the scriptures, there is no such thing as a “pulpit ministry.” It is people, men and women, in homes, going to synagogues, in the market places, and going from city-to-city sharing Jesus. We need to get our viewpoint and thinking out of the box, and share Jesus. Jesus is right.
There are so many differences of doctrine, opinion, Biblical interpretation and religious practice. Who is right? What is right?
The person of Jesus is right. There is only one true, crucified, resurrected Lord Jesus Christ. He called Himself The Way, The Truth, and The Life. That covers it all. We don’t have to add to Him or take away from Him. He is all we need. It is right to meet, follow and know the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus is right for forgiveness. He died to take our sins away. It is right to come to Him and believe on Him for our sins to be taken away and to receive His righteousness for our right-standing before God.
Jesus is right for the fullness of the Spirit and the operation of the gifts of the Spirit. He is the Christ, anointed with the Spirit. It is right to come to Him and ask for and receive the anointing of the Spirit from Him. The promise of the Father is to baptize us with the Holy Ghost and spiritual fire to enlighten, to impart gifts and to purify us.
Jesus is right for healing and health. He took a beating, being beaten and tortured until He was unrecognizable. He allowed this to happen to Him for us, so we could have all our sicknesses and diseases removed. It is right to believe on Him to have our sicknesses taken away and be healed.
Jesus is right for eternal security. He is in eternal covenant with His Heavenly Father to bless us forever. It is right to believe on Him for His keeping power and His eternal life.
Jesus is right for a relationship with God the Father. He prayed that we be one with Him and the Father just as He and the Father are one. It is right to believe on Him and to walk with Him and with the Father each day in total peace, love, harmony and joy—in total victory.
Jesus is right for theology. Jesus is the way to God. Jesus is the truth of God. Jesus is the life of God come to earth in the flesh. It is right to believe on Him to know God and understand who God is in relation to us and the world at large.
Jesus is right for the right interpretation of the scriptures. What we don’t know and understand, Jesus knows and understands. He is the living Word. To know Him is to know the Word with proper interpretation. It is right to believe on Him for what we read, and to wait upon and trust Him for the revelation of truth. For what we don’t understand, we still love, obey and walk with Him anyway. What pieces of the puzzle we don’t understand and that don’t seem to fit, by knowing and trusting in Him, we have the right interpretation in the right time as we abide in Him.
Jesus is right for us being satisfied to have all that we need in Him. It is right to believe on Jesus and know that in Him, all things are from Him, to Him and for Him. He is all in all. With Him, we have all we need.
We can take every issue, every doctrine, every interpretation, every teaching, every practice and every question, and take it straight to Jesus, and know that all truth is embodied in Him. We can trust Him to be the solution. He is the fullness of the Godhead bodily. What more understanding and explanation do we need other than to know Him?
Why would we want more understanding or explanation other than to just have and know Him? Will it help us to carry out the assignment He has given us to reach the whole world with His healing, delivering power? If it does not help accomplish getting the healing, life-changing gospel into every heart and life, then we don’t need it. His heart is to seek and save the lost, spirit, soul and body. That should be our heart.
Are we ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth—the truth that really sets people free, free from sin, self and Satanic oppression? Freedom comes by a heart surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ and living in the identity and authority that He gives us. We can know about Christ without knowing Christ, which only comes about by a heart surrendered to Him in faith.
Are we going beyond just knowing Jesus just to try to prove our own point of view and our own beliefs? Are we just trying to impress others and fit into their good graces? Are we seeking to please man rather than please God? If Paul counted all his religious knowledge and all his attainments and all his standing and influence with man as dung that he might just know Christ, how can we excuse ourselves from that same commitment?
All our knowledge, all our attainments, and all our life in every way, is to be submitted to the Lord of Glory for Him to use it, or not use it, for His purpose. His purpose is to reach the world with the simple gospel of mercy, grace and love in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. His purpose is to set all mankind free in spirit, soul and body through the life, power and name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The kingdom is not in word, but in power. 1 Corinthians 4:20
“For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life” (Proverbs 6:23). If we all stand to be reproved in order to more accurately and effectively present Jesus to the world, so be it. There might be fault in us; but there is no fault in Jesus.
