We had a good prison ministry meeting last Saturday night. There were twenty-two guys there. A couple of the men led the group in singing with a sound track of some songs they all knew and liked, and I got up to share the message on my heart. I said if I told you that I had purchased each of you a brand-new vehicle, you would probably not believe it. If I showed you twenty-two vehicles, you still might not believe it. You might have it checked out with some authority to make sure it was really in your name. When you saw the official title that it was really in your name, then you could really enjoy it. When you saw and believed what was written with your name on it, then you could be assured that car is yours to ride in and enjoy. That car can carry you places you could not go before. Here is the truth. Jesus really paid the price for your complete blessing in every way. When you really see and are really convinced that Jesus has paid the price in every way for every blessing, you can get in that vehicle and ride through life. You can enjoy all the places that vehicle can take you. He bought it for you and He offers it to you. The contract is written. It is the Word of God called the Holy Bible. That contract has been ratified; it has been made valid for you by the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The contract is notarized by God swearing by Himself and recorded in heaven. By faith you can know your name is written in the contract. When you truly call on the name of the Lord, turning your sin and your life over to Him, you can know your name is written in the contract. It is called the Lamb’s book of life (Revelation 13:8; 20:12,15; 21:27). When you get in this vehicle of the provisions of the Lord, it can carry you away from the prison that holds you captive. What Jesus accomplished in the whole incident of being beaten with a cat-o-nine-tails, and crowned with thorns, and hung on a cross to die, is that He paid the price for your total freedom in every way. His sacrifice takes your sins away. It positions you to be filled with His Spirit and power. The beating that He took was payment to take your sickness away. The crown of thorns that He bore was payment to take all your fear, anxiety, confusion, depression, and mental illness away. He paid the price! Now, by faith, we hear the words of the contract. We choose to believe it. We receive it. By confessing Jesus to be our Lord and believing God raised Him from the dead, we are turning from our life and we are confessing what He paid for is now ours. When we ride in this car, we can ride into freedom.
